I am stuck on the part where you have to through some stupid sticky bomb at about 9 million (exageration) stryders. Anyone have any advice to give on how to get through it? I down to what i hope is the last few. They are all merging on the silo. AAAAAAAAAHHHHH, ANd what is up with all the stupid hunters? How am i supposed to get a good shot off, if the hunters keep blowing the bombs up in my face? WTF??? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated!
Ok when driving towards the striders try and run over one or both of the hunters, it makes it alot easier. Now if you still have one hunter just start throwing the logs at it as much as you can. When the hunters are gone grab the bomb from the car and get the strider, it should be easy now. Drive back get another bomb for the car and get health.
I did finally get smart enough to run over the hunters. Wow, i really was not expecting such a difficult battle scene from Valve, but i like it anyway.
And keep in mind that heavy objects like logs (of which there are plenty in the forest) do more damage to Hunters than firearms do. If you must use firearms, use RPGs, the Pulse Rifle alternate fire (energy orb), the .357, or the Crossbow.
 yeah I am having probs with this level as well - HATE those boss battles where the odds are stacked so high. I bet if I had designed the sticky bombs they'd be a lot easier to use....I can only manage to deal with one strider at a time then I get so mad I have to shut 'er down......
OK - got there in the end - got lucky. I do think running over the hunters is the best way but man ya hafta go quick.....just managed to avoid smashing the monitor in frustration.......
The first time I played through I used the Magnum, Pulse Rifle and Shotgun on the Hunters in Our Mutual Fiend. The second time through I ran them all over with the car, then I came here to see if anyone else is using this method and sure enough it's a popular way to do it. Once you master the handbrake you can run one over, spin around, and hit another all with one turbo charge. Since they aren't always lined up one behind the other it's a handy way (pun intended) to do it.
I love how you can drive fast right under the Striders and they look down like "where'd he go?" I played the tail end of the second run through the game with the net connection enabled to keep track of Achievements. After finishing OMF I had racked up 15 of the 20 "Kill 20 Enemies with the Car" achievement so there must be 15 Hunter escorts in that level.
i found a cool way to kill hunters instantly :D but it cant really work in the last battle (hunter escorts etc.)
if u used the Gravity gun or the zero point field energy manipulator if u really want to call it that.... and picked up something invulnerable (container/barrel) and allow the hunter to shoot its darts on it and throw the barrel at the hunter.... for me they seemed to die instantly in the overwatch gun's alt fire (that ball of energy which obliterates ur enemy)
