I was surfing some of the HL2 websites to see what new news was out when something caught my eye. Halflife2.net had a picture posted on their forums that was from Valve for anyone to decode. They were also given this address that had a username and password. Anyways, it appears someone got the username and password somehow. I just thought it was pretty cool...:naughty: Username:valve Password:437N452 *There is more to the page than just the one pic....I will post back later if you guys can't find it*

Well, I guess I will tell the secret to view the cool part now. If you right-click the picture and then click VIEW SOURCE, you will be able to see something else....

I got it working after trying about 6 or 7 times. I think the server is just having heavy traffic. If you still can't get it working I will post a picture of the page.

Okay, the picture is not that great at all. However, if you right click the picture and click view source a txt file will open. If you then maximize the notepad it will show a picture of Gordon Freeman in text form. It is not awsome, but it is the best picture of Freeman in txt form I have seen yet. It's strange that Valve is doing something like that for no reason at all.... *Edit* I would upload the txt file here but it is 21kb. The forum will not let me upload anything past 10kb...

Cool thanks for the tip-off. That felt clandestine & secretive. It is pretty awesome even if all it is really is the Gordon image like WW2 has in his Sig pic. Just make sure you move away from your monitor, the illusion of 'shading' works best when viewed at a distance. Then you get a sense of how well calculated an ASCii pic that really is. It wouldn't surprise me is the Valve guys had the code for producing this type of 'image' conversion lying around (image -> ASCii). Its typically the sort of algorithm you get set as a task on Comp Sci courses. No one did that by hand in case anyone was wondering...:D.
