OK as most of you know Half Life 2 will REQUIRE an internet connection to verify your CD Key through Steam. My PC does not have an internet connection, so would I have to move it to another room for installatin and verification of the CD Key? Once i put the CD Key in, will i be able to play HL2 on any PC in the world with Steam on it if i am logged on into my account? If say, I have to format my hard drive and re install hl2, when i put the cd key in will it say that it is already in use?!! Say that in 10 years i wnat to play hl2 again, and valve has stopped it's steam service, or valve doesn't even exist anymore or...you get the picture, will we be able to play HL2? are me :0wned:? This anti-piracy measure might casue a crap load of problems don't you think?

I think so... these measures are a bit drastic to say the least, and I think valve expects to stick around, but they might fall under if they keep taking so long to make games, lol.
Heres how it is...
(1) Yes, you require an internet connection to validate your CD key via steam. I'm unsure weather you have to be logged in or not to play.
(2) If you format your harddrive, this will not matter. Just re-install the steam properties again and log in as per usual and away you go.
(3) 10 years time you probably won't want to play HL2 :P Then again... Doom... I think the answer to this is that Steam will stick around for then... Hopefully. No body knows for sure.
(4) You can play HL2 on ANY pc worldwide, providing it has... (A) HL2 installed already... (B) Steam for you to log on.
Does this answer your questions?
yes thank you.
ABout
It must have HL2 installed
oh, but i can play counter strike on my steam acount on my mom's computer and i never put the cd in for her...come to think of it, i dont even own CS, but wtvr i's on "my games" so bla. I guess.
In 10 years time, we'll be in the same position we are now today towards Half-Life 3.
Valve WONT be shutting down its *services* any time soon dude, chill and relax! :D

I also have a question about the regestraion if its OK to ask here. I know you have to register it via steam, but i always thought steam was a bband only thing, and that its quite large to download, and i dont know weather it will be included with the disc. Can someone fill me in please?
Cheers
well actually steam is only like 600kb or something to download...
I JUST got dsl last week.
