Ok if I post anything thats already been addressed...sorry in advance.

1. You don't need a 64-bit OS to necessarily run a 64-bit game. All you need is for the game to be compatible with the OS to the extent that it runs. For the game to be 64-bit, all it has to be is recompiled for the newer extensions and shortcuts for the newer CPU's. 64-bit is not texture quality or anything like that, don't cross your wires bub.

The only difference between a 64-bit and a 32-bit game is that the 64-bit takes advantage of some CPU shortcuts. That is it, whoopdee fucking doo. If you have half a decent 32 bit CPU is most cases it won't even make a freaking difference. CPU's don't typically make up most of your performance, its mostly in video card and memory speed. The advantages 64-bit CPU's are that they can address much more memory than 32-bit (32 can only handle 3gb), and they have CPU shortcuts for calculations. 64-bit won't provide any significant advantages until next year in my opinion. Significant to gamers anyways. 64-bit isn't everything the PR has made it out to be. It's just the next step in CPU technology, not Gaming Technology. Don't be a media monkey.

2. Far Cry already has HAD a 64-bit version. Didn't exactly "wipe the board" now did it? Too many people on this forum are crying for the fall of HL2 to STALKER or some other game coming out soon. New does not = Good. Cool GFX do not = good. All the nifty features in STALKER, such as the need to eat, may be its downfall. FPS's don't do well with micromanagement like that. If they set it up properly, it might work. I have a feeling it'll turn off many FPS'ers.

3. Will I play it? If the reviews turn out half decent, I'll pirate it. If I like it, I'll buy it. Otherwise I delete the discriminating piece of crap off of my HDD if I don't like it.

4. Get outside and exercise.

Hahahahah buddy you dont do ur reading do you...

Yes you are right about the 64 bit architecture in some parts, but what i mean is that there Remaking Stalker in a 64 bit edition, and in doing so there going to make the textures sharper.. the AI more advanced etc etc..

And okay, you try running a 64 bit game on ur current operating system, in whcih i mean by Windows XP..... It wont work... ... the only way you can run 64 bit programs is if you have an OS with 64 bit capabilites.... windows 64 bit edition is up for download and it can run 32 bit and 64 bit applications.... but you need a 64 bit CPU to use that OS

the AMD Athlon 64 3500 is faster then a Intel Pentium 3.4ghz EE, and the clocked speed of that chip is only 2.2Ghz.... hmmm 3.4 vs 2.2... Well you see the 64 bit does come in handy...

i can give you the Benchmarking... its been done with doom 3 on diffferent qualitys.. 64 bit architecture gives more possibilites for gaming and Developing...

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2149&p=7

and the chips "natively" run 32 bit apps also..... So this chip can run 64 and 32 bit applications..... unlike a pentium it can only run one oh and Far Cry's 64 bit edition isnt even out yet buddy.... maybe thats why you havent any info on it....

so yeah.... the 64 bit chips right now are good buys.... because there the future... and remember to get Socket S939 for the fact AMD said there going to base all 64 bit chips on that socket type.... :D

....P.S. i go outside when i want ty very much :)

Don't misunderstand what I said. I know a 64-bit compiled game won't run on 32-bit hardware, I'm a programmer, thanks.

Second, the comparison you gave between the AMD and the Intel is unfair. That AMD cpu is by nature much better anyways, especially for gaming. If you took that AMD and make an almost exact copy but as a 32-bit, you wouldn't see many advantages unless you used a 64-bit game that was 1. Massive 2. Used all the advantages. Even then....

I'm too tired to deal with people who won't read my post completely within context properly.

I don't understand, how can you have a game that is completely unscripted??? The game would be gay. Run around shooting stuff, no one can talk to you because that would involve a script. Seems kinda stupid to me.

its not like that, in a way the AI *learns* from what i understand, it is affected by the way you interact with the environment....thats why its taking so long, their still debugging it...and if it works the way they say its going to...then it will give HL2 a run for its money

oh you got that right..... some stalkers will be nice to you and some stalkers will f**kin hate you lol..

you can talk to them, the most they'll prob say is follow me or dont stay out to late, the monster will come or sumthing like that i dont know

This game is like an RPG, all you do is walk around in the 30 square kilometers land and pick up things you find and sell them so you can get better weaponry.... this game will rock
