As regards to what? I have simply stated my first impression and i am not attempting to rattle anyones cage as i expect you would assume. It may well have been out for a long time but that doesnt make it good.

It could have been worse for you though. Steam used to randomly crash computers, games, and give you the same error messages over and over. A good example of what Steam used to be, according to a fan, is this: Click me.

Really, you might end up enjoying Steam. I do not know what game Steam is automatically updating (probably HL2) but you always get automatic updates. Not once should you have to go out and search for a patch for Steam games, unless it is a mod or HL:Source, which you would want to find some High Definition mods to it. You never have to use a disc, and you can download high quality videos that cover your entire computer screen while still looking great.

BUT, if you have a poor internet connection, then Steam will probably bug you for a long time. But looking at your computer hardware, I do not think you have a terrible internet connection.

If Steam is updating Half-Life 2 for you, what does your box look like?
