I just finished half-life 2 episode 2. I loved it.

I just think you could have spent more time fighting the combine, and just fighting more soldiers in general.

I liked the ending but

Spoiler: Show
I dont think eli should have died such a gory death (especially in front of alyx )

p.s. what was the 'incident' that dr.Madican (or however you say his name) mention involding a microwaved casserole?

I loved it as well, the story is really getting interesting. I enjoyed not having to fight as many combine that was my least favorite part about episode 1. I liked the death scene it was excellent and had an emotional effect on me. I think the casserole could refer to the microwave in the lounge in half-life 1. Also did you notice the logo on the borialis container. It's the same logo from the portals, which means the device there talking about is the portal gun for episode 3!

before you go near the tracks go back the way you came (don't worry ant lions wont spwn anymore) and collect all the explosive stuff and bring it back to the "protective cage" you should have atleast 5 not including the once that are directly around it (at this point save the game, collecting them takes a few min because you have to carry them). then once she breaks free starting with the barrel that is right next to her grab them with the gravity gun and shoot them at her (don't miss) it stuns her so you have time to grab the next one do this working back to the "protective cage" throw the rest at her and you will take her out.

I just beat it for the 3rd time, and I think the ending was great. It shows how much a person (outside the game) can get attached to a character in the game. It really makes you sad, and it's exactly what is gonna make us want the next game. Did everyone notice how in all the previews of the game hinted towards a little bit of the gameplay. For example: Alyx looked like she was going to be dead in Episode 2 while someone really did die...just not her. There are a few others, but I can't think of them at the moment. Now about the Antlion Gaurd Mommy...Watch when they hit the cars, sometimes they hurt themselves by hitting themselves. I let her kill herself and focused on the other one. I turned around and she was dead before I could even try to kill her. Just a suggestion.

Yeah, I saw it. I just finished it like an hour ago. All I said for like a minute straight was "holy crap". Holy crap. Not to ruin the ending, but, holy crap. I love how Valve has incremented so much for the cinematic players, the storyline was obviously moving to a much grander and bigger scale of a storyline, so it was really cool that everything else went to that big a scale. Their cinematic physics is incredible, it does so much large scale "havok", while looking incredible real (and its practically different every time), and it doesn't even faze your framerate. Now THAT'S cool. By the way, I ran at DX 9, on an ATI Radeon 9600 128MB video card, 1.25 GB of RAM, and an AMD Xp 2400 2.0 GHz processor. I ran the settings at high model, very high texture detail, low shaders, simple reflections, medium shadows, bloom lighting, triliner filtering, and vision blur, and it ran quite well. There were only a few times where the framerate really dropped. It goes to show how excellent Valve is at making excellent graphics. The engine is simply spectacular, and yet its not a hardware hog. Now I was also running at 1280X1024, and if I had increased the lighting to HDR I probably would have had a far worse time playing the game. But all in all, it ran pretty well. I think I there is a way to force high shadow details (real time soft shadows), but I didn't try it out yet.

Hey guys, remember me? :D

Episode Two was just as awesome as I thought it would be, maybe even more so, but to be honest - I didn't like the ending much. It's not that I have a problem with a main character dying, it made sense for it to happen, but the timing and location seemed kind of contrived, and very anticlimactic. While it's true the Advisors' powers aren't well understood, it seems a bit far-fetched that they can just burst right in and pick Eli's brains in the rebels' own backyard, and Gordon, the hero, is powerless to stop them. If Gordon can't stop them from killing Eli, what was there to stop them from directly interfering with the rocket launch, or a hundred other things?

And while I'm at it, where the heck was Barney? Seriously, I thought he was going to be the important character who died, but he never even made an appearance. Mysterious. I missed his gung-ho antics. =p

Hey, you should've put that in spoiler tags. People still haven't played the game yet. It's fine if you mention a spoiler, but it's recommended you put them in a spoiler tag so no one accidentally comes across it who didn't want to.
