I currently am using a radeon 9800 128mb... do you reccomend i upgrade? since my comp proably will be obsolete in a year and who knows what games will be made using higher gfx cards.. what would you reccomend also and geforce or radeon

i know my comp will run HL2, but if i do get a better gfx card.. will it look really diffrent graphically?

If you can, upgrade.

If your a hardcore gamer, you'll see a difference.

If you can't, don't.

If your an average gamer, the 9800 will be fine on medium settings.

Always a GeForce, ATi may have a tiny bit more power but at least GeForce have half-decent cooling and perform better in the long run.

If you re AZZ, upgrade. If you re AZZ, you'll see a difference. If you can't, don't. If you re not AZZ, the 9800 will be fine on medium settings. So , azz if i get a x800pro it will overheat and become damaged unless i setup extra heat sinks or a liquid cooling system?

It'll just run the game faster: Higher FPS. No need unless swimming in rolls of 100-dollar-bills.
