FX series are really bad for hl2
*cough*, *cough*....the FX series are really bad for everything.
The 9600xt is the best buget card for HL2 that will give you high settings and great FPS, one of the best video cards ever made IMO.

Yes, this card would run HL2 and many other games smoothly at high settings. I highly recommend it.

its out of his price range. Why can't you just give your mom the $$$ and have use here credit card, paying it bakc the next day to avoid the intrest. The stuff on newgg is cheaper
