Have a time machine? Harrison Ford could play the bad guy. He's like 65 now.

If they made HL2 into a movie, it would suck. Hollywood can't do anything right anymore. I know, I work in the film industry.

first off, i don't think they can make a HL2 movie, because the game itself already has everything in it. The movie would just be retelling what's already in the game. There would be no point.

Ever since HL2 was announced, I have always thought of a HL2 movie though. If anything, I wouldn't want it to be a movie of HL2, but a movie within the HL2 world. How about a company of US marines gets sent to the coastline of city 17, to save American citizens who escaped a cruise ship distaster off the coast. The only survivor they find is a 16 year-old boy, and as they return to the extraction point, they are attacked by the Combine, forcing the company to scatter across the countryside. We then follow the Captain, 3 or 4 other Marines, and the boy as they try to get to the secondary extraction point on the other side of City 17, along the way discovering the horror of what's actually happening within the city and the outlying areas. There would be, of course, weird and terrifying situations they'd have to get out of, Saving Private Ryan-like battle scenes with Combine forces, and the Captain's adament dedication to not allow the boy to fight along side them, but to keep hidden and safe as they do so. The Marines also have to deal with the boy's lack of experience and mental preparation for the situation, along with much war-torn stress as they continue through their ordeal, i.e. nervous breakdowns, and utter fear of what unkowns they will come up against. Indirectly, their is this realization that the US government played a role in accidently releasing the Combine forces (Black Mesa?), and exposes the American govt.'s corruption in international affairs.

Whew! sorry about that rant. anyways, whattya think?

I don't know if I will ever see another game/movie agian. After what they did to resident evil! They have these perfect story lines, and they can't put it together. It's ridiculous. Personally I think movie makers should take some notes from video games. Games have always had better story lines. If i made half life 2 I would copy everything from the game. And not holywood any of it.

Someone from Valve said that the second they hear the people in Hollywood say, "and then Gorden falls in love..." they just tell them to save their breath. :)
