Just got done playing the demo, and have to say I was not impressed enough to go out and buy it right away. It is not anything really strong against the game, I am just tireing of these shooters, been playing since Wolfenstein 3D. Anyways, the price seems a bit hefty for a game I might get bored with right soon after. But, the one aspect that has me interested is CS. The only shooter games that peak my interest now are online games like Call of Duty, America's Army, etc.. So, what does the gameplay feel like for CS Source? What I mean is what game does it most resemble in style? Is it slow and serious like America's Army? Fast and arcade like in BF 1942? Intense action and realism like in COD S&D?

It's is like cs 1.6 minus everything that made it good, mixed with a pinch of no tallent. The game is so random, you can shoot a guys foot and get a head shot. Plus Ive seen people go 0 and 30 on 1.6 and then play source and go 40 and 11, its rediculous. So if your only buying it for cs, id say no it is definetly not worth it. But trust me when I say hl2 is not your average shooter, even when you finish the great game there is a ton of stuff to do. Two words, garrys mod. :)

HL2 DM is fun and pretty fast, but CS:S is not worth it. I've noticed lately there seems be more hackers than usual :uhm: Which brings the fun of the game down(never an admin around when you need one) HL2 is worth buying for its value in expanding, such as mods and expansions(hopefully expansions:) )

I am going to say that it is worth it. The Half Life 2 demo doesnt do justice to the game by the way... you gotta have the whole thing and get into it. Half Life Deathmatch is ok... needs some real teamplay though. As far as CS:Source... it is almost as good as Call Of Duty in multiplayer and somewhat different if you just need a mixup. very intense and now has bots which have pretty good AI if you set it on higher levels. When I downloaded the bots update I thought they would suck like normal bots... but they act similar to a lot of human players I fight against... not as good as they are... but the AI is good anyway. Pretty good game and pretty good graphics. Only thing that bugs me in the graphics is the blood, should be more like it is in Half Life 2.

bdito.gif You really can't judge HL2 by the demo. I've never seen a storyline like HL2's before, the ragdoll physics are some of the best and the graphics are top notch. Not so sure about HL2 Deathmatch... Theres not really a teamplay element to it. CS:S was alright at the beginning but there seems to be a rise in hackers and no matter where you shoot someone your gauranteed a headshot. Then theres all the mods that will be coming out to expand HL2/turn it into something new. Good fun if you like sweet storylines and ragdoll! :D

The only problem with the story line is that it didnt explain enough of it... so for people who didnt play the 1st one you will be totaly lost. But even in itself it just didnt give you enough story line. good other than that though.

Just to remind everybody: The question is not about your opinion of CS:S, but whether it's a good MP game. The thread starter is new to CS:S, so avoid comparing it with previous versions too. That means nothing to him. Thankyouverymuch.
