OK, both the headcrabs and vortigaunts are from Xen, right? Also, we know that headcrabs like to attach themselves to their host's head, turning them into zombies. So, how come you never see a vortigaunt zombie? who or what did the headcrabs attach themselves to in Xen if not vortigaunts? Is there a Xen creature we haven't seen yet? The alien controllers (flying babies) don't count because they can fly and stay out of the headcrabs' range. So, where are the vortigaunt zombies? P.S. If you're thinking about saying something like "That's a HL1 question!", remember first that both vortigaunts and headcrabs are in HL2 also. ;)

umm well first of all the vortigaunts are from the same planet... i dont think the headcrabs will attack them..... ... my opinion

and the headcrabs dont need a host to survive.... considering they survived Very long without the hosts

How can a parasite live without a host?

I can think of several reasons: 1. Why would the Xen bring their slaves to Earth? Judging by the human zombies, the Xen zombies must be stupid and slow. 2. The headcrabs don't need a host to survive. On Xen, they aren't threatened by any predators, thefore they don't need to defend themselves. They only acquire a host when they are threatened.

If they would die without any host, then there wouldn't be any damn headcrabs waiting to jump out at you from dark corners. . . . *shudders*

That's exactly why they do that, to survive. They find a host and then remain attached to it until it dies. After that, they just move on and look for a new one. SeinfeldRules muttered: I can think of several reasons: 1. Why would the Xen bring their slaves to Earth? Judging by the human zombies, the Xen zombies must be stupid and slow. 2. 1. They did not bring them, they teleported here during the Black Mesa Incident. Stupid and slow? I'm talking about the vortigaunts. Fast, smart and capable of killing you without even touching you. 2. Parasites ALWAYS need a host. No predators, huh? If you played the original HL, you'd remember the bullsquid is a predator and it eats headcrabs.

People think Xen Aliens are all friends well your stupid... Houndeyes, headcrabs etc ARE WILDLIFE like our animals. Alien Slaves,Controllers, Grunts Are the intelligent race that occupy the planet. And Fragger..I think they would headcrab a vortigaunt,or grunt or any humanoid Xen alien.

Thank you. I think a zombie vortigaunt would be a scary enemy.
