Hey guys. Seems everyone is making one of thier own threads about their rig huh? :naughty: Which is fair, i mean why not! Its very interesting to see what everyones got under the hood. Kinda getting a bit annoying seeing so many though, i apologise for making mine in that case  I rekon we should all just post our **CURRENT** machine and our **DREAM/ULTIMATE** Machine in here to stop the cluster of threads appearing about the same thing. Azzkiker/Brookster/Dave, if you please, could you sticky this thread so everybody could post thier awesome rigs in here and thad be really wick. We dont really have a hardware discussion thread in our own little HL2 community anymore, and it would be nice to freely discuss the topic on a regular basis without so many threads poppin up, because its really cool to talk about this sorta stuff with the people you know! Anyways, if its do-able could one of you guys sticky the thread please? ********************************************************* Anyways ill Start off here. Ok this is my current rig which im on right now. By the way go has hard out with your listing as you like, go really in depth and post pictures of it if you can, make it really interesting. Ill post up a picture of mine soon as i get my PXT from my email. Anyways.... **** My current rig **** *Pentium 4, 2.667GHz ram. FSB Speed of 166MHz. *1024 MB PC2700 Ram, which i think is 333MHz right? *40Gig HDD <<< Sad! *Excalibur IceQ Radeon 9800 Pro 128 *Using a Hi-Fi stereo with 6 mass ass speakers (Special thanks to Azzkiker for that one!) *17" Monitor flatscreen (CRT) ****My Dream Rig!**** *Pentium 4, 5.0 GHz CPU or AMD Athlon64 3400+ Dual Chip *5gigs of ram. Probably DDR2 *ASUS Mobo that will support it all  *IceQ Radeon X800 or better graphics card *200Gig HDD Seagate 10,000 RPM. Wont ever need that much space though! *I havnt decided on the rest yet, but this is absolute overkill! But dont you just love overkill?!? By the way im designing my own acrylic and Aluminium case and building it with a 600W PSU. It will have an "Ice: or "Cold" theme to it. So white and blue acrylic very likely. POST AWAY PEOPLE GO GO! By the way ill add my pictures soon. EDIT: There ya go guys! Heres a picture of me grabbin ma pc. You cant really see the box or anything but meh. PS: Ignore the Quiksilver and Ripcurl parafinalia, im a surfer and label bash like crazy hahahaha.

Well here are mine:

When HL2 comes out I'll have the following:

Right now my main Computer(my baby).

Before HL2:

PC Power & Cooling Turbo Cool 512 Deluxe PWS LianLi Foam Padded Super Quiet Case Athlon 64 FX-51 ASUS SK8N Motherboard 1gb CorsairMicro PC3200 at 400mhz ATI Radeon 9800XT 1 WD 36.7gb 10,000rpm Raptor for Windows, apps D3 & HL2 1 WD 120gb 7,200rpm Raptor for Games Plextor PlexWriter 52x32x52 CD Burner Plextor PX-708A 8x DVD Burner NEC 19”MultiSync FE911sb Monitor Logitech Z-680 5.1 500w DTS Speakers Logitech Navigator Keyboard Logitech MX800 High Precision Mouse Logitech Dual Analog Gamepad Logitech Strike Force 3D Joystick

After HL2:

LianLi Foam Padded Super Quiet Case Antec Fanless PWS Athlon 64 FX-55 Athlon 64 FX PCI Express Compatable Motherboard (not available yet) 2gb Corsair Micro DDR2 Memory 2 PCI Express ATI Radeon X800 XT P.E.s 2 Western Digital 74gb 10,000rpm Raptors Maxtor Diamondmax 300gb 7,200rpm (16mb cache) Plextor PlexWriter 52x32x52 CD Burner Plextor PX-712A 12x DVD Burner RESERATOR 1, Koolance or Corsair Liquid Cooling system w/CPU, Video Cards, Motherboard, and Hard Drive cooling blocks Sony F520 21” 22.mm grille pitch Monitor Logitech Z-680 5.1 500w DTS Speakers Logitech Navigator Keyboard Logitech MX800 High Precision Mouse Logitech Dual Analog Gamepad Logitech Strike Force 3D Joystick

My Second computer has an: (Before HL2)

Athlon XP 3000+ ASUS S7N8X Deluxe Motherboard 1gb CorsairMicro PC2700 at 333mhz Zalman Noiseless Switching PWS ATI Radeon 9600XT 256mb with Zalman Fanless Core Cooler Maxtor 120gb 7,200rpm (8mb cache) Maxtor Diamondmax 300gb 72,000rpm (16mb cache) Sony Standard CD-ROM Drive Sony 12x8x32 MultiRead CD Burner NEC 17” MultiSync FE700 Monitor Microsoft Keyboard and Optical Mouse Logitech Z-640 5.1 70w Speakers

I have 2 other computers that will run HL2 at medium settings, good for LAN parties . I upgrade my computers 1-2 times a year. I put the new parts in my baby. The old parts from that computer goes into my second computer and my second computers parts go into my 3rd computer. So at the end of my line of computers I usually have enough parts to build a totally new computer. So my second computer will look like this when HL2 is released:

Athlon 64 FX-51 ASUS SK8N Motherboard 1gb CorsairMicro PC3200 at 400mhz ATI Radeon 9800XT Zalman Noiseless Switching PWS 1 WD 36.7gb 10,000rpm Raptor for Windows, apps D3 & HL2 1 WD 120gb 7,200rpm Raptor for Games Plextor PX-708A 8x DVD Burner NEC 19”MultiSync FE911sb Monitor Microsoft Keyboard and Optical Mouse Logitech Z-640 5.1 70w Speakers

I also have a Dell Inspiron 8200 Laptop 2.0ghz 512mb Radeon 9000m and a Dell XPS running a 3.4EE 2gb DDR2 and Radeon 9800m in 2-3 months.

The reason I haven't upgraded yet is because there isn't any Athlon 64 FX PCI Express compatable motherboards yet . So I'm waiting......

Asus mobo, no idea on cost cuz it came with Alienware system but i'd say $400-500 i suppose. PCI Express support. Maybe more. Dunno.

Wow, wow wow! Apok your current machine is nice enough! Ill buy it off you when your done with it if you like

Omg, i never knew... with PCI Express, will it be possible to have more than one graphics cars working at once, to render the same things? Holy crap this will greatly increase gameplay! I never though of that really, but i supose scince you have more than one PCI slot its possible, but will it actually work?

Hmmm im going to go more in depth with my PC as soon as i have a bit more time. But Apok, can i ask what you do for a job? im still a student hahaha. Training as a hardware tenician in January though, so that will be fun!
