i have this seemingly clean ,scratchless HALO installation CD.The problem is that when i try to install it,it goes up with the copying progress to a good 87% and then comes up with the error that it wasnt able to write to disk.I have attached screen captures of the problems.I think its a problem with the file (sounds.map) in the files cab5 of the CD.Is there a solution?

Maybe your hard drive is too low on memory. Usually the default hard drive is C. If not, I dunno, maybe your sound card sucks.

If you dont mind me asking, with did you get "really worried" as you said, when you saw he was one of the Halo files staff?

Just wondering.

Yeah, that bit kinda threw me off too...maybe he's one of those kinds who think that if a staff member talks to you, you're in trouble. I know people like that. If so, sajjad, you oughta know that's not the case. We're normal...well, sometimes...and if you were in trouble for anything in the Forums, you'd be disciplined by one of the mods with the orange usernames like Sirius here, not a file slave like myself. Of course, I could probably tell you what you were doing wrong if you were, but I'd have no power to enforce it.

Thanx Gentlemen!

in my first post ,describing my problem,i categorically specified that its a problem with the file(sounds.map)in files cab5 of the CD.And if you catch a look at the screen captures attached, you,d for sure know that i am basing my suspicion on reasonable evidence. The assessments made by zamamee are so general and wild that ,frankly i was disgusted.I was expecting that an expert would easily be led to ascertain that there was a problem with the CD.Wether or not, getting a replacement download of the problem file was possible ,was the area i thought wold come under light.Any ways may be i was over hopeful or optimistic.Thanx again for the interest and attention.:smokin: :bows:

So, you're confusing me now. Are you thankful for the interest and attention, or disgusted at my advice?
