ok, when I try to play the singleplayer campaign (or cooperative), the game freezes in the loading screen, then after a few seconds a message appears saying: "There's a problem with the disc you're using. It may be dirty or damaged. Press A to continue", so I press A, and then the Xbox menu appears. The only thing I can play is split-screen multiplayer.

can anyone help?

after u check if ur disc is "clean", go to ur friend's house (that have XBox) with your HALO. and see if it works on their xbox. if it DOES work, that means ur xbox's lens is dirty and u should buy some lens cleaner cd. if it DOES NOT work on your friend's xbox game console, its your CD's fault. if you recently bought this (or still covered by warranty), go return/exchange it. if not, your only chance of playing is to rent/borrow or buy a new one.

hope this works!

It could also be that Microsoft makes xbox and Sony make playstation. 2 monopolies that can do anything they want. I have seen alot of problems like this, do what NYforever said to do.
