In campaign mode, Halo 2 has a mechanism for removing dead aliens / marines and the assorted guns and grenades that they leave behind. Presumably, this 'housekeeping' is necessary in order to stop the Xbox's (rather limited) memory getting filled up. The problem is that when you're playing the game on legendary, every one of the grenades that gets left behind is precious, and it drives me mad when I go back to get a plasma grenade off a dead elite, only to find that both the elite and his grenade have magically disappeared. I find that there are points in the game on legendary where picking up guns and grenades off dead aliens is extremely useful, and there are points where 'if I only had one more plasma grenade' I wouldn't be stuck, and I would have had another plasma grenade if the housekeeping hadn't removed it. I know that Bungee have to work within the limited capabilities of the Xbox, but why couldn't they, for example, clean up the dead aliens but leave behind their guns and grenades? Is it just me who is finding this annoying?

Well, um I guess you could say it's annoying, but thats just your problem. You should have filled up with grenades before you left. Or just use plasma weapons, there are so many of them.

I never really noticed this, I remember a few times backtracking through the majority of a level to pick up a second plasma rifle for example, that I remember an Elite I killed dropped...:uhm:

I too have done that. But if you kill some more enemies, won't there be more ammo?

Ha ha, yes I suppose it is my problem, but I think the point I was trying to make is that in the context of the Legendary difficulty setting, which is extremely hard, every grenade counts, and thus I feel a bit miffed when they dissappear from the floor. As for filling up on them 'before I left', the point is that you can only carry four of each at a time, so any extra will just have to be left where they were dropped, and you can only hope they'll stay there. Obviously, yes, if I kill more enemies they'll drop more stuff, but killing more enemies on Legendary is not always easy.

Yeah that's one thing they should have kept from Halo 1, the bodies disappearing but not the weapons, ammo, and nades.

I was playing some legendary action earlier, and yes, the grenades are quite missed when you need them.

So on multiplayer, you want the same n00b running to get his sword evertime he gets killed?

I doubt the complaint is geared at all towards multiplayer

I never said that it was. I was simply saying that if you took that out, guns would not dissappear in multiplayer. Don't put words in my mouth please
