I know there have been a couple of these threads already, but they went nowhere. Hopefully this one has some relevant info.
Ok, so in this weeks "Weekly What's Update?", one of the quetions they answered was:
Where's our downloadable content, huh?
A perfectly good question and one I intend to skip delicately around. We haven't announced a schedule or a timeline or anything in fact, and we haven't clearly specified exact types of content other than to say expect multiplayer maps. What I CAN say is that contrary to internet rumors, Bungie did not trash all of its Xbox debug kits after Halo 2 shipped. A very large array of Xbox debugs is humming hotly away in our test room this very minute, and the testers and the Bungie team are busily testing "things" in the lab daily, from 1pm to 5pm. And I can tell you personally, that some of the "things" they are testing are quite enjoyable.
So could these "things" maybe be downloadable content?, or maybe something else?, and maybe what ever these "things" are will be released in the date given in the credits of Halo 2 after you beat it on legendary?, what exacly was that date anyways?, I know it is in February, but I cant remember exacly what date it was, anyways, I wonder what happens then, and what these "things" are.

I think they are making remakes of Sidewinder and Hang Em High as downloadable content, just new maps for Xbox Live i guess.
Hang 'em High! I must have it. I need it...Actually I could do with all of the old-school maps with the obvious exception of Chiron TL34.

I hope they also bring back Death Island, I like that map, its one of my favorites.
Yes, it was a good one. I also like Inifinity, it's my favorite map for racing.

As you see in the quote in my first post, they haven't announced a schedule for any downloaded content yet, hope its soon though.
As long as they don't rush it we should be fine. We all know what happens when games stuff gets rushed...
