SovietValortheoman, we didnt expect the game to be perfect, we just felt they broke something that was alright the way it was. please could you list some reasons as to why halo1 wasnt perfect? i loved that game and i found that its imperfections just drove the meter up, its idiosyncrasies made the game what it was... pocket reloading, crazy explosions, melee ducking, melee itself made ti such an awesome game... it held more true to its plot than halo2 does imo... mc was a super soldier, a genetically enhanced human with an AI attachment into his armor...super strength, reflexes, but he is human so ... he still gets hurt falling a good distance... back on topic, halo1 did have a few flaws but overall it left you with a very distinct feeling that this game was incredible, i felt that way everytime i played regardless of losing or not... halo2 just makes this one against insane odds fight seem like anyone could do it ... it seems to have lost its grandeur... go with it the way you will but i have yet to see you validly back up you assertations... i have supported mine but all you have done is try to bash my unchallenged points. im not trying to seem sarcastic or sardonic here but if you find this game so well done out, could you please illustrate as to why it is so worthy of a claim?
Um, no video game or one thing can be perfect.
And Halo is good all execpt for you whiners about the stupid little pistol.
theoman, dont be like bungie and dodge every single question you are asked. either provide support to your opinion or then it has no substantial weight towards this thread.
And Halo is good all execpt for you whiners about the stupid little pistol.
not once did i whine about the pistol, not once did i bring it up and do not expect me to bring it up. im sorry but i guess i didnt explain in a way that you would understand. if you want to post about how halo1 fanboys are all up in arms about halo2 not having the "uber pistol" then fine, this forum will then be ranked very low in my standards of forums like it used to be but if you actually take time to think about what you are posting and come up with evidence to support your reasons as to why halo2 is good or why halo1 was all about the pistol, then feel free to put write it down and click submit reply. otherwise it just degrades your image.:uhm: what ive been seeing so far doesnt really show anyone's stance on this forum so..:feedback:
SovietValor otherwise it just degrades your image.
And you have one to talk about?
I just tired of all of the whining over Halo2 and Halo. Why can't we just get along about it?
yes i do have an image, it may not be established here but i really couldnt care less about that. you as a mod should know to post things on subject and back them up with a relevant amount of data to support your claim. otherwise, it does little to help your side of the debate. i would get along with halo2 if it just had that halo feeling again. the only way i can enjoy playing is on custom games of Team Slayer "Elimination" with Br/magnum it is pretty fun but it needs to have 16 players to make it really enjoyable. it feels like CS, not that i play cs very much or own it, but it is more enjoyable than getting acustomed to how halo2 feels now... i tried for the first month to get past how different it was and learn all the little ideosyncrincies of each weapon...but it was just too different to be a sequel in game and not just a sequel in name.

Umm, he's not a mod here. The mods all have their names in orange, just for future reference. And I gotta disagree, Halo 2 feels very Halo-like as far as the gameplay and controls go. It really doesn't remind me of CS at all.

Yeah, I'm not a Mod yet! Muhaa!
But yes, they would not call it Halo 2 if it were not Halo themed eh?
doesnt matter if he isnt a mod here on this particular part of the forum, in his sig it states he is a mod somewhere else, so he obviously IS a mod. yes, theoman i do agree it is halo themed, but it is only a sequel in name and not in game. sure the storyline goes along where the original left off, changes a few things and what not, things that are for the better on singleplayer only. when you get to multiplayer, some of the changes and additions in multi are just fine, but when you get to weapon respawns and the overall feel that if you dont get there first, then you are just tough out of luck. respawn points are crap most of the time, like for instance, in coag. you go over and assault their base and start arming the bomb, killing off their whole team and ... they respawn right next to their base but when they do the same, you often spawn miles away... often in sigh of their sniper, but since you cant get to yours because either, A) a moron on your team has it or B) you cant get to it because you spawn right in front of a vehicle, next to a duel wielder, back in sight of the sniper, etc... so all halo2 is, is just a roll of the dice then.. *come on lucky seven! yes, i spawn closest to the sniper.. *come on... crap snake eyes.. get killed by a noobtube that your team said they had... then spawn back in front of him as he finishes reloading...then respawns in front of a shotgun... *rolls dice for the final time.... yes i cleared the base, time to run off with my flag...dum dee doo dee... through the portal we go... and .. whered my team go? ... what they all quit out? %@$!#& .... some of these problems you may have to lean towards human error... such as the no extra penalties towards quitters... or the crappy non safe respawns ... but if the game was supposed to be fair for all like the 40 yr old soccermom playtesters said it would be, then wtf is so screwed up with weapon respawns? --that would have to be my major concern, get it to where it isnt, guy has to run out of ammo for greatest weapon ever to respawn, then i might play a little more. hey halo1 was great about that because if you have 2 snipers camping your base on bg, then you could make a mad dash for that sniper when it came back and take one or both of them out, this one, you just have to sit and wait for him to expend all of his ammo and just hope that he was using the sniper from the base you are closest too
Geez, could you possibly go on any longer. I know you have the right to express your opinions and I respect that but when you start to complain about your own faults, then well, it's just crazy... First of all, weapon respawning, they can be changed! It is in the options for the games you choose in multiplayer. Plus in Coagulation I understand that you do sometimes respawn in some 'open' places but remember that your opponents also respawn in those 'open' places and deal with it! So if you were the one killing instead of dying then you wouldn't be complaining about little stupid things like player respawning would you because you wouldn't have any excuse for a sniper taking you down! No one else complains about little things like what your taking about, your missing the big picture, being that Halo 2 in a great game. And no matter what you think your not going to change the minds of others that play the game.
first of all i wasnt talking about custom games.. and anyway, the good weapons do not respawn until someone drops it or runs out of bullets... regardless of playing custom or matchmade. most options in custom games arent extensive enough, i hate having to go sign out all of my guests on a box of four, then go back to the main screen and do all that stupid crap just to adjust one setting on a game because it isnt on the freaking quick options tab. you obviously do not get it about the respawning, yes everyone spawns out in the open but after the first initial encounter, which is usually a 50-50 battle over the rocket and ball if assault or just rocket on ctf... then the person that dies is pretty much screwed... it doesnt make it a fun game to know that the winner is usually, and i stress usually, determined with the first encounter. yes on custom games it can be a lot different but so many people bought this game for the ranking system and to play people from around the world. i dont want to even talk about their flawed xbl system... too much to laugh at there.. anyway, i guess this forum is just another bungie backer, everyone who loves this game may post here and be worshipped for having the same opinion but if you dissent from the "popular view" then you are a heritic! lmao im glad some of you learned a new word while playing halo2. just because it is popular doesnt mean it is the right way of doing things, remember that. im done posting here, this user base's thought process is almost as shallow as that of bungie.net and halo.net. constructive criticism is something i guess you guys cannot handle, so i bid my farewell, keep posting about how much you love halo2 and there are no faults to this game, i will keep chuckling and be amused at how much idoletry you show towards bungie. -------until we meet again------- ----------------- with <3 SovietValor
The battle rifle is too damn weak. You can't really snipe anyone because you need to waste too many bullets on people, and they either get to you or find cover.
