Just wandering how everyone else thought on the different weapons. Like i like the AR in halo 1 better than the 3 round burst. And i love the Dual SMG or i like to have 1 smg and 1 plasma rifle. I kinda like the pistol better in looks in halo 2. I heard there were 2 diff types of pistols, a 45 and 9mm ive only seen the 45 anybody know anything on that?

There is just one human pistol.

And I prefer all the guns in Halo 2, specially the redesigned Fuel Rod Gun, I think it looks really cool. :D Too bad you cant use it in multiplayer. :(

I would argue that the AR was not replaced by the Br, but rather the SMG... both are fully auto, and neither can zoom and fire. The BR i say replaces the old pistol, in that it is more powerful and can zoom and fire. I do like the new human pistol though, its so much fun to dual wield two pistols, even if you dont live very long to experience its joy.

i like all the new halo 2 weapons better. try not to think of the battle rifle as a replacement for the assault rifle, that's what the SMG is for. the battle rifle kinda combined the old pistol and assault rifle. it's all good, though.

By the way, the battle rifle was made to replace the pistol, rather than the Assault rifle (which is why it isn't called the assault rifle anymore). The SMG fires more like the old assault rifle if you notice.

The assault rifle in the first game wasn't so good for medium range if you noticed, and choosing the pistol over an assault rifle for medium range is a bit dumb, but you had to in Halo 2 because of the way it shot. So they made the battle rifle as a better medium to long range weapon, the way it's meant to be.

Halo 2 weapons are better by the way.

Yeah, but the Assult Rifle didn't take so long to reload like the SMG does.

You gotta give it up for the Battle Rifle! Better accuracy than the old MA5B, but it misses out on ammo carried- 3 spare mags as opposed to the AR's 10! Wouldn't it seem better to be humping at least 360 rounds instead of 108? Also, Bungie seemed to have skipped a bit on the reload animation. Remember when the Chief would pull back and lock the bolt on the AR, swap mags, and then slap the bolt back down? I mean we see the same action with the Battle Rifle in the demo. Also what would anybody say to be "long range" in Halo 2? I mean it seems like the longest range to scale that I've had to engage targets at seemed to be at least 2-300 meters. Does anyone really need a scoped rifle at that distance? With my M1A, I don't really need a scope for anything up to about 650-700 meters depending on the conditions. But anyway back on topic - Yeah! The Battle Rifle works ok. I gots to git me one a those.:sarrow:

I wish they kept the older assault rifle along with the new one
