I was playing halo for about the gazillionth time, when I started wondering about how the moniter was acting. Before you start saying that this is alot of bull, consider this Fact: Humans seem better at operating forrunner technology than the covinant (or at least the panels to open doors) Fact: of the 2 reclamers, both were human, no covie reclamers Fact: In the books, we seem to have placed colonies where forrunner artifacts lay hidden. Fact: Biblical referances refer to the ark as a boat to save people and animals from the great flood. But the big reason is in the Maw, this one line got to me,"You can't imagine how exiting this is, to have a record of all of our lost time." To me, that suggest that humanity could be somehow related to the forerunners. How, I don't know. But why would the moniter be refering to "lost times" if we wern't related?
Hmm, yeah, never really though about it... you may be on to something. Kudos, and rep, for you!
I figured it a looooong long time ago.Humans are the forerunners, they are not some alien race.A number of things point to this, mostly the ones that D00M stated.Another fact is that the title reclaimer means something pertaining to the flood as well. One of the definitions of reclaim happens to be "To make flooded or wasted land usable",which, using that definition, means the reclaimer is the one who would make the flooded land once again usable.Think about it,flood, reffering to flooded, and make usable, reffering to making the land inhabitable. The other thing is that since they are the "re" claimers, they are the successors to the original claimers.
Since of course a successor can't really be of another race, this makes all signs point to the idea that the forerunners were human, possibly dating back millions of years.
I've thought of that too. I've heard most of the things the Moniter said and thought about them, but was pretty much too lazy to post that stuff. And I thought I was being ridiculous. =P
BlazeThe Forerunners built the Ark to protect themselves from the Flood. Since the only way to stop the Flood was to activate the Halos, the Forerunners built the Ark to protect themselves. After the activation, the Forerunners emerged from the Ark, re-populated Earth, and never spoke of the Halos, the Ark, nor the blast that wiped the entire galaxy of sentient life.
Yes, it's probable.
I read somewhere that Forerunners were humans.
I think we can all agree that Bungie wasn't very vigilant in hiding the fact that the forerunners were (we're 99.999999% inclined to believe) humans.
I don't think they are humans. After giving it some though, it wouldn't really make any sense... wouldn't fit into human history very well.
How would there even be history anyways.........if the humans were forerunners and all got wiped out,how the hell would they have made it into history?
No thats not what I mean.... I mean, well (gonna try not to be too scientific, and I may have a few things wrong) Humans have only been around for thousands of years. The Halo rings don't destroy planets, etc.... only lifeforms. SO, if the forunners were wiped out a long time ago, then wouldn't some of there technology be lying around on Earth? Metal takes a LONG time to rust away to nothing so at least SOMETHING would have been found on Earth to show that they had existed. The Halo rings show that their architecture is very advanced so how would there have not been some of those creations on Earth.
Also, if the forunners were human and they wiped themselves off the map, how did they suddenly re-emerge on Eath and not have ANY knowledge of their past? The entire theory just doesn't make any sense to me.
