The M6G... evidence from Halo3.com: And, it says it has explosive rounds like Halo 1... They took the hint and brought back the legend!!
I hope it's not as strong as it used to be. In Halo 1 it was way too good, but in Halo 2 the magnum was a waste of hard drive. It needs a compromise, and I hope that's what we get.
yeah me too. h1 pistol was just insainly strong h2 pistol insainly weak a good mix is needed badly.

Legend? You mean the rediculously overpowered go-to weapon for every serious player?
I sure hope its better than the Halo2 pistol, but it shouldnt out-do a assault rifle like it used to.
:banghead: I keep reading that it has no scope... even read Frankie from Bungie saying it... meh...
Nope it has no scope. EGM said so, Gamepro said so. A lot od magazines say so, so there you go then. It only holds 8 rounds and won't be as powerful as the first game but it will be a lot more powerful than the M6C magnum. IMO it now feels closer to what Bungie intended it to be in the first place: A good sidearm when other, more powerful weapons don't exist.
There wasn't a scope when the pistol was unlocked in the beta (if that counts), and Bungie's constantly been saying it won't have a scope. To be honest, I'd be surprised if it did; 5 (or 6) shots ending with a headshot to an unshielded opponent is once again an insta-kill, and when the pistol is dual-wielded with another pistol or a plasma pistol, it's powerful enough without getting a zoom feature. Bungie knows Halo 1's pistol is overpowered, and Halo 2's pistol is underpowered, so they're simply combining the two. Which is fine by me.
I didn't make it!
Now that there is dual-wielding, using a scope while having a weapon in each hand would be a little confusing for me.
They won't have dual-weildable scoping weapons. It'd be unpractical and unbalanced.
Ah, it's been confirmed not to have a scope. In the recent weapon information postings on Bungie.net: "The M6 series are recoil-operated and magazine-fed. The ‘B’ and ‘D’ variants are issued with the smart-linked KFA-2 x2 scope." Halo 3's pistol is an M6G, so it doesn't have a scope.
