Has anyone here had any experience with the recording program "FRAPS"? If so, what did you think of it? I am considering purchasing it to record Halo in-game footage. Does anyone recommend a good program to record in-game footage?
I assume you mean the computer version of halo?
I find Growler Guncam works a lot better than fraps. It also has it's own video editor and AVI compressor. So it's great for making quick clips. Oh yeah, it also costs about have as much. I wouldn't waste money on fraps.
Growler Guncam video game recording software
i have the fraps demo. it records pretty good. the graphics are not blurry or pixelated and the movement is not laggy. the graphics look just as good as they do in the game. but the demo only allows you to record 1 minute movies and it doesnt have sound. another bad thing about fraps is the videos take up so much memory.
Something to correct u:- "1 minute" Wish it were correct...its just 30 seconds. "It doesnt have sound" It does. "the movement is not laggy" Its somewhat laggy for me...look at my YouTube video"What Grunts do in their spare time" Sorry but I cant give u a link right now.
It depends on your PC, fraps records perfectly... exactly like watching someone play the game (I have full version). Only downside is that the videos take a crap load of memory but if you have a good video compressor you can just manually solve that problem to save hard drive space. I hear gamecam works good however if you are an Xfire user you cant have both on at the same time.
MAy I also recommend hypercam? I've used it only once to test it out but havent used it for gaming itself (im too lazy). I dont know the standards you expect, but I'm only mentioning it after all...just google it.
OH yea my new computer doesnt lag my videos now. It was my crap graphics....Fraps' onyl problem is that it can only record 30 seconds and that the videos are hugeass memory eaters. And the Gamecam demo doesnt allow sound(thats what I heard)
When I tried to use Hypercam once the colors were all messed up when I played it back. I'd stick with Fraps or Gamecam.
Mine too.colors messed up.
Hmm, the last time I used it, it worked perfectly fine and the colors werent messed up. But I'll take your advice anyway.
