Ye, the Halo movie would be a good idea - but Peter Jackson? Ok, he is a good director, but Im not sure if he could do a good job of bringing Halo to the big screen. If he made it, it might end up a mess of CGI effects with the actors being unconvincing due to the fact that they're forced to act in front of a big blue screen. A bit like that fat sack of shit called Star wars. This would take any sense of realism out of it, and this would be a good target for movie critics everywhere. But he made a great job doing Lord of the rings. I dont like all that majic and dragons and shit, but I did watch all 3 films cos they were really good war films. So who knows? Maybe he will succeed. But Thats the last of my worries, cos there's still the choice of Film companies. Imagine Universal or Fox trying to stick at least one speedboat chase on one of the big Halo lakes (that would be strange as there were no speedboats in Halo, but Im sure they'll find a way of shoving a couple in), or the Master cheif removing his helmet at the end, revealing Vin Diesel's gormless face, or, god forbid, fucking Ice cube. The Film would end up nothing but a great fucking money magnet, trying to get unsuspecting Halo fans to spend a shitload on cinema seats, treats, and souvineers. And then the merchandise, which would just about empty every parents pockets as their spoilt little bastard kids nag them for a SGT johnson lolly. Cos I have a feeling that the producers will dumb it down to an embarrasing PG rating. More problems? Well, there will almost definitly be a love triangle hidden in there somewhere, probably with The Cheif, cortana, and one of the actors from Baywatch (I have no idea how you can have a love tringle with a little computer lady and a big drooling thicko, But the Cheif will find a way). Oh yeah, and the CGI will be used to show the Cheif as he does a backflip (or two), clears a roomfull of the stupidest bad guys ever in cinema (Dreamworks will make them as thick as the cinema pizzas that they dish out, complete with an official Halo coke cup) and then, to take the piss, turn to a nerdy, wisecracking Marine who will be the comic relief of the film and say some cocky thing that would make James Bond look about as witty as the chewing gum that you will be sat on for the whole of the movie. Speaking of which, will probably last WAY too long, leaving your arse feeling like Ben Affleck's head - completley devoid of life (or brains, in Affleck's case, thick shit). Tie all this in with a big, fat, completely stupid and meaningless ending and you'll wonder why you bothered shelling out 14.99 on the fucking thing. Ye, I am looking forward to see if the Halo movie will come out (How can it not? The money spent on it will be timesed by five-hundred in the first twenty-six minutes), but in a way, im dreading it. Because to film producers, a movie isnt a movie any more. It is a big smiley cash cow, designed purely to get the well-earned jingley stuff out of the pockets of people who go to see a real movie. Personally, I think Bungie should make it, just by making an Hour and a half long cutscene out of the Halo 3 graphics. and then spend their cash on getting it to the cinema screens. This would be much better, and done with a lot more care than any of the movie bigheads that bring us shit like Alien vs Predator and triple x and call them movies.

As long as Bungie were on hand to approve the screenplay or be actively involved in writing it, it couldn't be that bad. Peter Jackson is a great director, and if Steven Spielberg produced it, you would have a hit. The only problem with making a movie based on a video game is that you can easily upset fans by veering to far from the original storyline. A good example of this would be Doom. The studio and/or producers didn't wan't to offend the general public by saying that the monsters came from hell, So they had to come up with something different. While they did a decent job of explaining what happened, they completely deviated from the original story and whole basis of Doom, which in turn disgusted many Doom fans. Halo would be different, as the adversaries in this story are aliens. Not really anyone to offend there. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
