Yes it is possible, the XBOX controllers connect to USB ports, both the PC and XBOX 360 have them. Although I'm not sure if the wireless 360 controller is compatible with the PC, it probably is though. :)

Yeah I think it is, because I found this little item, so I'm assuming that for a wired controler, it's just a simple matter of pluging it into a USB port, though I'm not quite sure about it, so don't blame me if it doesn't work.

If wireless controllers plug into the same USB ports on the 360, than one could assume that they also plug into a PC USB port.

I don't know why you'd really want to. It pays off to just learn how to use the keyboard/mouse combo. It's a lot better than a gamepad once you get the hang of it.

Wireless ones don't plug into any USB port, they're um..wireless...

I would imagine the receiver has to plug into something...or does the Xbox 360 have built-in wireless receivers?

Sorry, I don't know much about the 360. I know on the old Xbox, you had a wireless receiver that plugged into the Xbox, and then a wireless controller that transmits to the receiver.

Ah right, with the 360 both the controller and console itself have built in transceivers. However one of the 360 controller variations does require a cable, although it is in no way wireless. ;)

Ill try to make to make this as painless as possible.... The Xbox 360 WIRELESS controler has a built in transciever and the console a built in reciever there is a PC add on for about 20$ that will USB into your PC this device is a reciever that will pick up you controllers frequency after you sync it ( similar to syncing a wireless controller to any xbox 360 ) so yes it WILL work... also the "cable" from the WIRELESS contoller is the play and charge cable for rechargeable battery packs or if your batteries died mid game you can throw it on and continue to play.
