Seeing as there really isn't a specific thread in which to discuss these, I've taken the liberty of creating it myself. I know a lot of the posters here have read the books, The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike. For those of us who have read them all, there are some questions we'd like answered, like, will there be more books? I personally think so and hope so. Some ends were just left too untied to end the series right there.

One thing that's really killing me is...what the hell ever happened with Dr. Halsey and Kelly? To refresh your memory...Dr. Halsey kidnapped Kelly while she was unconscious and took her away on a stolen stealth spacecraft, and they were never mentioned again. I really want to know what happened.

Any thoughts?

Yeah, I'm reading them again right now. I like the Fall of Reach and First Strike the most, they felt the best written, with the most back-story. I hope they make others.

Hey, -Ghost-! Nice to see you around this corner of the forums...didn't know you read the books. Good stuff, bro! Welcome! I agree that those books are the best writted. Eric Nylund really knows his stuff. But you gotta give Dietz some credit too, though, telling the story of Halo from the Covenant perspective...

Yeah, that was a good part of that book, gave you an idea of what was going on in the Covenant part of the battles. The only thing I dislike about the books is how they kill off so many Spartans so fast. At first there are around 25, then maybe 50 pages later there are at best maybe 10 left. It's odd, because they've been fighting for atleast 20 years against the Covenant, and only lose maybe 3 people over all that time, then lost almost everyone in a single mission.

Yeah, they didn't really plan ahead very well, ended up dropping almost all the Spartans over the course of one book. At the beginning of First Strike, there were 30-something, right? At the end, the only ones were John (Master Chief), Linda, Fred, Will, and Kelly. Kelly barely even counts because of Dr. Halsey stealing her away to God knows where. I really must find out!

Hopefully there will be more books in the series, and we'll find out.

I'm hoping for more books, too, they left the whole thing kinda on a cliff-hanger. I can see the next book either leading into where Halo 2 is, or covering Halo 2. I guess I can see why new books haven't been made yet, Halo 3 is being made, so they probably want to see where the story is going, first.

I think there will be another book to link the end of Halo with the beginning of Halo 2 and to explain what happened in Halo 2 that the game didn't explain and what happened between Halo and Halo 2.

More books would certainly be nice. I really like the universe Halo is set in. Also, with Halo 3 coming soon I'm hoping that there will be at least six more books - three for each game. But that's a lot to ask for.

The working title was: HALO: Ghosts of Coral. It is written by Eric Nylund. About the book: There where many Forerunner artifacts on Coral (under the ground) however when the humans started to uncover a large temple the planet was glassed by the Covenant. Also a guy had his family on Coral but he was on Earth. That's all I know. It'll still take about a three months before we get to read it though because the release date is October 31, 2006
