Ok, a friend asked me if i wanted some of his old games *I was like WOO HOO free stuff!!!!* anyway, he gives me Halo, its on a CD-R disc......anyway, i install it...works great, SP works...i want to play online......but i doubt it will work since it was on a CDR, is there anyway to verify that i have a legal copy (im thinking maybe he made a backup CD, he makes backups of everything...hes paranoid) , and that my friend didnt give me a piece of warez crap??

Well have you tried playing online yet?, if you have the CD key that should be enough for online play, well you needed it to install the game anyways, and try updating to the newest version of the game. Just try and play, see what happens.
