i really wanted to create my own halo ce map, but my 3ds trial has expired and i dont know another model editor that can help me, does anybody know? please PM or post

Gmax is free, but not as good as 3DS Max. I think you need something called Chimp to export models to .jms.

great for u i dont know how to attach bases (yes i know it i have to create new faces around it)
EDIT - if anyone could help me i would appreite it alot

in polygon edit mode, choose your skybox, then click attach and click your base. then you must delete all the isolated verticies around it and make new ones
