This is a forum in which discussions will ensue about the future of the pc in relations to halo. To start things off, How do you think the current state of PC's and MACS will affect the future development of games. What will become of modding if Quantum Computing is introduced to Halo? Imagine having a computer in which modds are create not by programming languages which we are extremely familiar with (if you aren't you shouldn't be reading this post!) but are created by the introduction of a virtual photon to a virtual environment. Imagine the possibilities! Perhaps Halo will be turned to a holodeck version.

Odessa, Maarten, vous-avez un ami. =p

If quantum computing is introduced to Halo, then Blam! will be obsolete and therefore not technically the Halo we all know and love.

Also, the fact that they are virtual photons means that there will still have to be some overriding programming language.

No matter what you'll always have to do with programming code.

The code you'll need would be for the machines to regulate the amount of photons etc and the forcefields.

Also the photons in a holo deck would be real, they are on the deck and simulate the image of objects by light. Forcefields would create the hardness etc.

Also if this would happen this would be quite a while from now before we see what your suggesting and they should probably redesign the game to make it look better in the holo deck.

IT WOULD BE COOL THOUGH.

Mark my words, this will be achieved by my hand. Halo will not become obsolete. Just imagine wearing mark V or VI armor. It's quite enthralling. Perhaps hand to hand combat will be more entertaining in a holodeck.

Yeah if you could actually lift a warthog and a scorpion over it would be cool (super spartan pwnage).

But how would you simulate a set of mjolnir armor on a person, i can't see how if could possibly be of any affect since it would probably just be some forcefields to give it a feel and a bunch of photons so you actually see it.

And when you say HALO WILL NOT BECOME OBSOLETE. Do you mean the first game won't become obsolete, or do you mean the story won't. I'm a bit confused.

First of all the mjolnir armor would work because the environment and hostiles would also be composed of photons and forcefields, so you would be almost identical to the real thing! The story and all the game will be recreated precisely. So it won't become obsolete. More chapters to halo and others games might become available through holonovels later on.
