i managed to make it so my plasma pistol shoots out marines. however they just stand there without shooting or moving, but they are good at getting killed. so my question is... is there a way to activate these marines and make them walk around and shoot?
Nope, they're just bipeds, you can't put AI in them. What you could do is make your plasma pistol shoot warthogs with Marine AI in them. (Use HHT to put the marines in the hogs)
Go to the Warthog tag in HHT, and in the dependencies, find where it says "actv". Change all these from "Null" to whatever AI you want to put in.

Replace it with the hog turret projectile then, it won't crush you. Or you can null the hog's collision geometry.
yeah i was thinking that, ill try it. also they don't folo you around like other marines do, but my guess is theres nothing that can be done about that. or can you prove me wrong
Nope sorry, that requires scripting which can't be implemented when you're spawning them in-game. (The AI or their bipeds would need a name from Sapien)

What you need to do is 1) Get on Guerilla 2) Open Plasma Pistol Weapon 3) Use Biped as a projectile 4) Include AI Acting Script In your content (make sure you have the "follow player flag selected" 5) Go to biped/projectile properties and go to spawn properties and I believe there is even a flag that says, include AI or something of the sort. If all else fails, you could create a program in visual basics that spawns AI in a vegetable biped.
I'm not sure if he's using the HEK, I think he's just using HMT and HHT.
