Hmmm, the shield grenade shouldn't be hard to create, the only problem is getting it to keep you from dying if a rocket were to hit.

Are you planning to make a forcefield model with glass shaders and bump maps, turn them into pentagonal shapes which link up and create a hemisphere in the model shader and tag design and have it added to the spartan's biped model to use as an animation for only when that specific weapon is used? as well as creating the new animations to fit it? or would that be too much work? It's been done for the most part, but not implimented due to I have been unable to get sapien to work on this damn laptop of mine.

ah well if anyone wishes the animation render i'd be happy to get a gif made for it... later anyway, right now I am focusing on playing NWN2's storyline, ah RPGs heh heh.

I saw the pic of what you called the shield grenade weapon, and I have to say, it doesn't look exactly impressive... I am not trying to put itdown or anything, but to do it right there are certain loops you need to jump through to make it look more like something you wouldn't normally see in the blam engine.

I also have to talk to you about the HUD. It is good as far as most of it goes, but the shield and vitality... you think that one could be a little more... creative, straight boxes? it just doesn't look like it'd go well with the halo universe. Also, some of the new bipeds in the CMT maps like in coag kinda sucks, I mean the overall design is just too boxy and the helmet looks like something you'd find on an N64 game.

How does it work? Is it supposed to be a grenade that spawns a vehicle or object in the way that has no collision for players (to avoid being crushed) but able to deflect projectiles, and has a limited amount of health and a very short respawn time, or something else?

MX54, the shield grenade was featured in the Halo 3 commercial (not necessarily a grenade), but it creates a shield around the player to absorb damage. go to the xbox website and download it.

I know how the H3 commercial shield bubble works, I'm asking about the one that Masters made.

Strider, I'm not even going to bother correcting your post, you don't have any idea how the H1 engine works. We have nothing to talk about, you are not a modder or a mapper. If you read the OP you would have realized that those are placeholder shaders. MX45 our shield nade is a projectile that spawns scenery. The scenery is using an unused material ID (engineer shield) so that when a projectile like a bullet or plasma hits, it will reflect off. When something like a Rocket hits it it creates an explosion that does no damage, since damage effects pass through scenery.
