Does anyone know where to get sounds from a H2/H3 Plasma Rifle and if they aren't a .wav file, does anyone know where to get a .mp3 to a .wav converter

There's a program out there that rips Halo 2 sounds. However, it took me a great deal of trouble to get it, so I won't exactly explain how to get it. You can always try the recording method. Or, if this is for Halo, rip the sounds out of z coagulation pb2. Even though the map is protected, the sounds are not.

Yea, that's what you use to extract .sound files from a map. The h2 ones are in z coagulation. Keep in mind, that you're going to need the Halo Editing Kit for these to be some use. You'll also need Halo Custom Edition, because that's what the .sound files are for.

Go for the recording method then. Either that, or find a Halo 2 sound extractor. You're going to need the XBOX ADPCM sound codec though.

Record it. Have your mic record the stereo playback for almost perfect sound quality.

You don't need an Xbox for the XBOX ADPCM plugin. It just allows you to play extracted xbox sounds.
