Alright, I don't know how many of you have modded xboxs, or even still play Halo for that matter, but this is an old tutorial I made and thought I would share. And plus, this is another reason to mod your xbox besides just being able to download games and do other illegal activities. Hacking Halo Maps for XBox So, you’ve modded your XBox and decided that you want to shoot rockets out of your Assault Rifle? Its a common edit, but none the less cool. This is a good place to start your editing skills. I am assuming that you already know how to FTP to your XBox. This is for the NTSC versions of Halo. Tools of the Trade : A modded xbox • Halo(duh!) • An FTP program • A Hex Editor. I use HHD Hex Editor. You can download it here http://www.hhdsoftware.com/hexeditor.html • A list of offsets for the map you wish to edit. You can find all of them here http://media.7708.net/hack/boll • Patience The Operation: 1. Load Halo and load the level you wish to edit (we’ll be using Blood Gulch) 2. Do In Game Reset and get to a dashboard you can FTP with 3. Open up your FTP program of choice and look in folders X, Y, and Z of your XBox for cache files. They will look something like 003.map 4. Transfer 003.map to your pc 5. Open up your Hex Editor and open 003.map 6. You should now see a shitload of numbers, don’t get overwhelmed 7. Open up the offset list for Blood Gulch 8. Find something you wish to edit. We will be making the AR shoot rockets 9. Now on your offset list look under projectiles for the AR bullet. You should see the offset (0x233dbf8) 10. In the Hex Editor press Control + G and a box should pop up. 11. Copy the offset for the AR Bullet into the box and hit OK 12. It will bring you to the location of that offset. A few numbers/letters should be blinking. 94 44 83 13. Now on your offset list look for the Rocket Launcher Rocket. Remember the green part. D4 83 98 14. Now in the Hex editor overwrite the blinky part 94 44 83 with d4 83 98. Your work should be red 15. Now save the cache file and transfer it back to your xbox in the folder you found it in. (overwrite 003.map with the one you edited) 16. Load the level you edited and have fun! You can edit many things. For example make a tank shoot Master Chiefs. A ghost shoot tanks shells. A shotgun shoot grenades. There are too many to list. And don’t forget you can also do this with single player levels. Just make sure you grab the right cache and use the right offset list. Single player cache files will be larger than multiplayer ones. Single player cache maps are 000.map through 002.map. The one last modified is the one you want to grab. I want to give thanks to all the people who wrote tutorials before me like this. Or else I never would of learned how to do this.
Thank you for this, random thread....
Tutorial uh?, well, then it doesn't really need replies.

ummm on a modded x-box do u have to actally open ur x-box and do some crap like they do on the screen savers??? and does this cost any money at all to do the whole process? Also this would probably work for halo 2 becauese it works for halo 1 right? but if it doesnt ill just use my halo1 becaues i barely use it anymore i only play halo2
Um, I'm not really sure what all I'm allowed to say here, but to mod your xbox, yes, you have to open up your xbox. Most of the time anyways. www.xbox-scene.com, and its a little bit different for Halo 2, they already have a group working on editing the maps, they even have an editor out now to use. I havnt really had a chance lately to mess with Halo 2, but i'll get around to it.
i probably wont do it if it includes actally oping it up cuz its half someone elses x-box and im afraid ima kill the x-box lol
Didnt I close this thread?, I swear I did, guess not.
