Anyone know how to do this in HMT (with plugins)? Thanks.
I am pretty sure there is no flinch animation already in Halo. You would have to use the HEK for some of this, unless there is some app that automatically do it for you. You would have to create animation of biped flinching, create damage_response tag file to melee model (in Guerilla) and insert that animation in the damage_response for the MC Biped. After you have the animations and the tags, you could just inject those into a map with HMT. BTW, I understand that if you are just beginning, this will sound difficult for you. If you are persistent, and wish to do it this way, we will walk you through it as best as we can.

Enemies do sometimes flinch, in the single player campaign. Many times when you whack an Elite after his armor is gone, he'll stop firing and stumble back.
Hmm. I am not sure if that would count as flinching or not. Most of the time the elite never really "staggers" but strafes, and even when he does so, it is not because an object is about to hit him. It is not like he staggers because a melee is coming towards him, which is what Plox is asking for. Nevertheless, if you create a new one or use the animation Zam described, you need to swap it with the main melee response animation for MC's (or whomever). I am uncertain if you can open up the biped animations file in XML, but the concept on how to do it remains the same. (swap stagger with main melee response for biped) Still, I think this would be easier with HEK, but that is just me.
Yeah I meant that when you smack an elite, it will stumble back. Thanks for the info anyway
