Sort of... At the moment it's more of just a combination of stuff I found around here that I'm trying to get to work together.

Ok, down to business, so my questions are:

(1) How do replace the Master Chief in Halo Classic with Jahrain's Lost Spartan? (if possible)

(2) Which bitmaps am I supposed to replace for the Allied Races Mod?

(3) Why is this so confusing?

This is still kinda new to me, since I'm used to manually installing all the individual files in explorer...

If you are making this mod for Halo PC, you will need to rebuild the map you are modding for The Lost Spartan. I don't know what you mean by numbers 2 and 3.

I'm trying to make the Lost Spartan visible in the Campaign mode. Does that mean I have to rebuild ALL the Campaign maps?

#2 refers to the old Campaign mod, Allied Races by jpb1719, I can't tell the difference between the good guys and the bad guys because I can't figure out which skins to replace...

#3 is half-joking, but seriously I wish I understood this stuff better, I tried to inject Manomod's weapon models into the campaign maps and all I succeeded in was corrupting the game files.

Hello there, that Lost Spartan biped is exclusively for Halo CE(Custom Edition), not Classic(PC).

Also, please tell me the tag extensions your dealing with for injecting bitmaps/biped.

No. You need to replace the RAW model of the Master Chief with whatever biped you have. This should be done with textures as well. That is all you need to do to get the biped into the maps.

They were most likely CE files. What file type were they?

The weapon models are for Halo Classic, they were ppf files for Blood Gulch and they work when I try them there, but nowhere else.

Those files need to be reconfigured. Open the Halo PC map that the biped is actually in via Halo Mapping Tools. If you have 3.5, you should be able to go to PC models (something like that) and select export as a .obj file. Download 3d exploration and open the .obj file. Then save the .obj file as the filetype of your modeling software (.gmax or .3ds, etc.) export it as a .JMS in your modeling software, then make it a .gbxmodel and replace that with the original MC biped. Back it up first, though. And compile your CE map via tool.

Dude, he just said its for Halo PC, not CE. @deadeye, please stop mentioning it as Halo Classic, its called Halo PC. "...they work when I try them there, but nowhere else." A ppf for BloodGulch is meant only for Bloodgulch, if you put it on something else, you'll probably get a corrupted map. Try this:- Open the ppf'ed 'Gulch in HMT, find the bitmap tags for "cyborg", export them. Then open any other map and import them, simple as that.

Thanks! I'll give that a try!

(The reason I call it that is because my friends keep forgetting that the 'CE' in Halo CE stands for 'Custom Edition' not 'Combat Evolved'.)

The Lost Spartan is already in Halo. In Cryophobia, I believe.
