Okay i got Halo for the pc
i installed it and everything then i restart my comp...
now for the problem
I start up Halo then it shows the Halo logo with halo in the background then it disappears and nothing happens
halo doesnt start up no error message no nothing... then i tried again and it said
missing strings.dll or somethingl like that
so i googled it and all I got was the Trial Version strings.dll so i put that in there.

You have no spec issues that I know of. Have you updated the Halo Version to 1.07 and are you using Vista?
The hardware should be more than enough; I know I've run Halo on less than that.
I agree with Sunray, it's either the patch or your operating system.
Windows XP and the reason i dont have the patch is because it wont install says i dont have halo installed this happened a few days ago when i tried the patch so i reinstalled halo and it still said its not installed
That's not normal. Are you sure you're installing the patch to the same directory as your base Halo game?
Just in case, try redownloading the patch:
And try the autopatcher:
just now tried both of em the first one says i dont have halo installed the second says This application has failed to start because PATCHW32.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem. maybe its the strings.dll any1 got one they could share?
i did some searching for you and someone said that if you get this problem you probably have not installed it in the proper directory. or you could test these. they are from the microsft website. so its microsofts fault if anthing happens. the link automatically downloads for u. http://download.microsoft.com/download/d/7/d/d7d479ae-4aed-4e6c-9565-0c97bfda7554/Strings.dll
