Hi I have a problem here... ...A few days ago I installed Halo again, installlation went perfect but then I came ingame (Singleplayer). The gameplay was very very slow. I dont want to know what my FPS was, probably very low. It does this since i have my new video card, wich is a Geforce FX 5200 128 MB DDR. On my old video card (a Geforce 4 MX 440 SE, 64 MB DDR) I didn't had this problems, the game ran smooth and fast. But since i have this video card it all goes very very slow. So here's my question: How is this possible?? Is it just my videocard?? Is it a crappy one?? Is it because Halo doesn't support my video card?? I would like to have some answers. Thanks. Here are my system specs: AMD Athlon XP 2200+ --> 1.8 Ghz 512 MB DDR (even more than i had before, but it still runs slower) Geforce FX 5200, 128 MB DDR. (suppose to be better then my older card) Syntax SV400 Motherboard.

Maybe with your old card, you turned down a lot of the detail settings, like particles, so that it ran nicely on that card. Then, when you got this new card, you left all the details on high, making it slower. Small things like turning off decals (which are bullet holes, blood, and anything else that is added to the scenery by your actions) can make a huge difference in performance.

Well I did turned everything on low, and set the resolution to 800X600. On my old card i could play everything on Medium with a res. of 1024X768. So this is weird.

I searched for a tweak and i found something that did helped me. It said to add -use11 behind the shortcut parameter. Now it does run smoother but still not good. My FPS is around 20 wich is (tough i think so) very low. A good FPS hangs around 50/60. Anyway it does run smoother now but still not good enough. I think it's just my video card and I'm planning to buy a new one (maybe a Radeon 9600 PRO). But the problem is that my videocard is just new ( I think I have it 3 months now so this sucks). I hope it will run smoother on that 9600.

But till now; does anyone know on how to get my game faster?. Thnx, Mark de Lange
