I am having a problem with an error message during the install of halo, when it gets to 19% i get the error message."cannot extract from cab1.cab., low memory(swap file blah blah...) or file is corrupted..." I have scoured so so many sites and i have done everything MS advise on in their support board because they have a seperate article concerning this exact error.

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;245063

My disk is not fragged, i have cleaned my temp, swap files, followed all of MS instructions and still i get the error. I have ran a search on the error, but i see lots of people with the problem, and unfortunately no solutions. My comp is of a moderate spec. 512ram, athlon 2000+ 32mb geforce 2, 1 hd 80gb with 50+gb free. I've even done a clean format and re-installed XP and still i get the same error message every time i try to install.

Looking everywhere for a solution and i've stopped here for any help, im desperate to play this game, i bought it scond hnd the other day and ive hours of not being able to play.

Please help, im desperate to get this going. I've tried everything MS said, clean boot, the works...im out of ideas now. Its not antivirus or any background prog, because i did a clean boot. I have tried absolutely everything and i would appreciate any help and ideas so i contact MS tech services at a last resort.

Please help guys..

Thanks -xekt

Oddly enough, it may do that for all 6 cab files, It annoys me too.:( But, you might want to check your disk for scratches, as you may have a damaged disk.:( Or free up some of Your RAM.
