This is both an idea pitch and a recruitment for a team:

General Information: Mod Name: Predator Mod Site: Pending Mod Leader: Xerobound ([EMAIL="admin@xerobound.com"]admin@xerobound.com[/EMAIL]) Mod Type: Multi-Player Mod Genre: Action / Sci-Fi - First Person

Concept: -The "Predator" is a genetically altered humanoid with enhanced senses and abilities and special powers such as: [INDENT]Regeneration: The predator(s) will regenerate health over time. (server set variable)

Extra Health: The predator(s) will spawn with extra health. (server set variable) Super Speed: The predator(s) will run faster then normal humans. (server set variable) High Jumps: The predator(s) will jump higher and longer then normal humans. Claw (with charge attack): The predator(s) melee attack will be a claw that will deal more damage. The predator(s) will be able to charge at enemies delivering a critical blow. Scent (Player trails): The predator(s) will be able to activate a skill that will leave trails behind players, allowing the predator(s) to find players more easily. The skill will turn off after an amount of time (server set variable), and will be unavailable until cooled down (server set variable)

[/INDENT]-Both the humans and predator(s) will be able to wield weaponry. Current details as to the types of weaponry are unspecific, but will include automatics, pistols, heavy weaponry, equipment, etc... The use of traps and explosives is currently being speculated.

-Game types will be based around scenarios that would be believable in a single player type environment. [INDENT]-Each time an objective is completed and the match is over, the teams will scramble (if server sets it to do so), and the match will restart

-Each time an enemy is killed, one friendly player will respawn (all non-ffa game types)

Escape: The humans will be put against predator(s) (server set variable). The goal of the humans is to get to the escape/extraction point. The predator goal is to kill all of the humans before they respawn.

Team Predator vs Predator: The name explains it all, the predators go against eachother in teams. The first team to kill all of the other team's players wins.

FFA Predator vs Predator: Free for all with everyone as a predator. Player with the most kills at the end of the round wins.

Team Human vs Human: (Same as 'Team Predator vs Predator' but with humans rather then predators)

FFA Human vs Human: (Same as 'FFA Predator vs Predator' but with humans rather then predators)

More to come: More game types (or altered) will come based on decisions and input from developers and public votes. [/INDENT]

Development:

As it says on the top of the page, this is both an idea pitch and a development team recruitment, based on the response of the public and developers.

Currently development has not begun, though plans have been made.

Available Positions: [INDENT]The positions shown below are only some of the needed positions, but the base and most necessary of mod making.

Coding and Programming: MUST be fluent in C++ programming language, and experience with the source SDK is preferred. 3D Character Modelling: Must be able to accurately and efficiently create character/player models as specified through word, text, description, and concept art. 3D Object Modelling: Must be able to create objects accurately and efficiently as they are needed (smaller part, preferred to be shared with another position) Mapping and Level Design: Must be familiar with VHE (World Editor) for Source mapping. Ability to create own prefabs/textures is preferred, but not necessary. Textures: Must be able to create textures to fit the Mapper's needs accurately. Sound and/or Music: Must be able to create realistic (if not real). Music needed for splash/title screen and/or game. Concept Art: Must be able to accurately depict concept art from text, descriptions, and miscellaneous sources. (This is serious, I do not want a "drawing" from a concept artist. I want concept art. There is a difference.)

Miscellaneous Positions: Site Moderators: People to "patrol" the public forums, refer any relevant posts/threads to us, and deliver proper punishments to maintain control on the forums as specified by the rules. (I can handle for now) Site Webmasters: People to update site content and news. (I can handle for now) Mod Promotion and Public Relations: People to go and spread the word, for either public people to join our community and support the mod, or developers as they are needed.

More positions are available, as some smaller (but necessary) positions were omitted, as well as some that will become available later as we need them or else later in development once we know the mod will be released (beta testers, etc...) [/INDENT]I can currently offer myself as a Coding and 3D Object Modelling, as well as partial mapping/texture art. I will also design and host a site (if it gets a team). I will design the site anyway, and get started immediately. I will also get a private development forum and groupware (to share files/information/tasks) site up as soon as possible upon the first application.

Some information of the concept has been omitted, and all that is available from this post is only to give the reader an idea of what the mod plans to be about and like.

this isnt helpful at all but not once did you say you got this idea from farcry instincts you didnt even change the name

I am sorry, must have forgot to put that in after it froze and I had to re-write the entire message (:mad: ) Anyway, yes. The concept is based off of FarCry: Instincts for the XBOX. Alterations will be made of course, all for the better. To name a few we want to make the predator less human and more beast, add more weapon choices, and offer more/altered/improved game types as well as gameplay. The name "Predator" was not the name we were originally aiming for, but it fits, it works, and it is seemingly the best for the mod. (some of the other ones being "Killer Instincts", "Savage", etc... [Most Taken]). -Xerobound
