Hi, I'm creating a mod for the HL2 engine. Here's the story: basically its the whole hl1 maps put togather and redone.
except its 50 years after the residence cascade event. It is pretty much falling apart deserted and left as was asfter the fighting was over. Except the a procrating alien survived. It created a colony of more aliens. the fed of random crap but mostly som radioative sludge an they mutated. some sientist hve been obsrving Black Mesa recently and have sent an expidtion to survey the area. They went missing.
this is where you come in. As Alan Shepard (remeber he got swallowed in that weird demetion in opposing forces)
The G-man brings you back (i don't think he is going to ever die)
to "clean up the mess" basically recover the sientist's findings erradicate the scientists and any opposing forces "basically every one"
the US govrnment sends a task force to destroy and secure black mesa
thats as far as i have thought. what do you think
So its basically the same as opposing force? It sound's cool
Alan Shepard?
You mean Adrian Shepherd. Then yeah i suppose it is OpFor but 50 years later.
It would be cool to see familiar locations (Tram lines or Office complexes) rotting and crumbling with all the beutiful details HL2 has to offer. I say go with it.

Valve is releasing the original Half-Life on the Half-Life 2 engine so you will see those places. Oh and they're also doing Opfor 2, Blue Shift 2, Team Fortress 2, and Counter-Strike 2.

You mean Adrian Shephard ? Oh yeah , that would be cool ,but I can give you some suggestions ... You see if BM was destroyed during the Lamda incident , that would mean that you will have to create ruin like offices , trams must be totally ruined ( It was a bomb after all ) . Plus don't forget - no electricity ( in most areas ). And if there is no electricity , that would mean that you will need a lot of OPF engineers to crack doors , or (if only HL2 has a red faction option such as destroying walls and doors ) a lot of grenades to blow the doors out . But still chances are that some power generators could have survived the blow , although they're very small . That would make a great mission in the game , right . Like you could get it from a scientist . No lying corpses belonging to the BM incident staff . It's fifty years later man ! Like you could only leave skeletons . And make that fifty year later a little shorter . G-man ain't sleeping in a freezer you know what I mean ! ;) Make it like 30 years later or 25 , ok ? And know the surface ... well if it looked almost totally ruined before the blow , I cant imagine how he looked after . That's all . But I can give you more man , like these things sit in my head for months , years even .
And why do you think G-man will never die ? He's a goverment agent for Christ sakes .
I'm waiting for the HL , OPF , Blue Shift Source to come out . Than I 'll play your mods . But I don't doubt that this one will be interesting ( maybe like mod of the month , or year even ) :deal:
Chris b92 the source mods are not sequals therefore dont call them opforce2 or blueshift 2. your gonan get ppl excited also tf2 and oposing forces are gearbox not valve
I reckon to solve the problem of the limited lighting you could have mini generators left behind by the scientists who came to study there. All you have to do is find them and turn them on. They could also leave some special equipment lying round for you to enjoy.
