I'm spending a year dead for tax reasons.

Half-Life 2 is a game that even to this day still looks and plays pretty amazingly, it's aged really well and still has a massive fan following, especially on the modding scene, so it's no surprise to see a new combat mod for the game release after a whopping NINE YEARS under development.
MMod aims to re-work the combat of the game, with brand new weapons, but also enhancements to enemy AI, gun handling, and much more. It really makes the game feel fresh while replaying the classic Half-Life 2 story, and for that, well, I am very thankful. It's breathed new life into the game.
There's some animation tweaks and other little enhancements, too, not just to combat but to the graphics - see if you can spot them all in the video above. Some of them are really pretty neat, especially the idle animations.
It's amazing to be able to aim down the sights of some weapons now, and also cause some good old turret carnage ala Portal, something I enjoy doing very much.
So in addition to the enhanced visuals, new weapons and superior gunplay, the AI has been made tougher than your grandmother's well-done rib-eye, they're much more on the ball now and use some underhanded tactics, too.
So, what are you waiting for? Get it now from our sister site, ModDB, here!
