Hello all, I know I won't be speaking for everyone out there but I will be definitely speaking for a lot when I say BF2 really lost it somewhere. I don't know if they weren't listening when 80% of the public thought BF Vietnam was a joke and after the hype went back to playing Battlefields 1942 DC/DC Final Mod but for some odd reason they still used the same engine for BF2. I'm guessing it's to cater for all those X-Box owners who will rush out and buy it. Well I didn't spend $2000 on my PC to play X-Box games... And then of course it's very evident that a good percentage of people are having compatibility problems with or without the new driver supporting BF2's new shaders (77.3+).

However HL2 WOW what a game! absolutely brilliant graphics at incredibly smooth frames, even for those that can't afford a giant graphics card like a FX6### series. And of course no compatibility issues or special drivers needed.

HL2 is the perfect foundation for what could be the worlds LEADING Combat game. With the stidermod giving us pilot control over some more serious toys like Heli's etc. Still needing improving, unfortunately it's not going to happen through its original creator. But someone could definitely build on it. Then HL2's large 3D environments, which BF2 surely lacks!

Unfortunately I am in know way a graphics designer or programmer but I see there are many people in the process of making a HL2 Mod who are obviously very capable! I would propose that those who are interested to leave comments in this post. If there is enough talent interested then I believe together you could have some very large game developers sorting after you on completion. Also the general publics criticism would be great supporting or not supporting the idea.

I sure am:) I'm certain it would be far popular than any game due to be released, including those that just have been...

what xbox game would bf2 be? its pc only.. fool.. extend on what you're trying to say, you can't go against bf2 when you obviously have little/no knowledge on it. just because your pc cant run it theres no need to go saying that. and hl2 cant use big environments, small maps only. too many vehicles would cause lag.. think trough what you're going to say.

ketch.

Wouldnt work, trust me. Hl2 isnt good with massive maps and all those vehicles on it would cause tremendous lag.

Or english graduate... Battlefield 2 is a very good combat game. It uses an all new game and physics engine to create a realistic simulation of modern combat. The graphics - if you have a high end pc - are on par with many offline shooters. They may be slightly worse, but that's because the engine has to cope with up to 64 people bombing it about. Now, these 64 people are in a full-scale map with a variety of different vehicles to drive and lots of things to blow up and send flying. So get your facts straight before you post. I had to browse on the Battlefield website for about 10 seconds to find out it used a new engine and physics system.

Battlefield: Modern Combat is the X-box equilvalent of BF2.
