I want to create a five-seven for HL2.five-seven.jpg I have created a very basic model for it in 3ds Max 7 but have no idea what to do next? Do you have to create 2 weapon models? One with an arm and one without? I reallly need help!

When making the weapon do you texture it in your 3d software or do you texture it as you would if you where skinning something? Also do you have to animate your weapon? Any tutorials would be very helpful

I found this compiling software for HL2 http://www.jpole.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/downloads.html I don't really know how to use it because i'm new to HL2 modding but maybe you will know your way around it. If you do get your weapon into CSS please tell me how you did it!

No animation is needed. You don't make anything with an arm... :wtf: One model shows when the weapon is on the ground and the other shows in hand. You don't need the former. I believe that W models show on the ground.

Actually, you need to make 2 models for each weapon: A high-poly version for first person view and a low-poly version for 3rd person view. You also have to animate your weapon. Open any weapon in the model viewer and you'll see all the animations for it. http://www.planetquake.com/polycount/cottages/blackboard/tutorials.htm

Well, that's a tutorial for a different game. I put it there just as a reference. Believe it or not, if you read those thoroughly and get a few more, you can figure out what to do more easily.

You'd need to import it into 3dsm and then you could. BTW, your image crapped out. Use this instead: http://www.imageshack.us/
