What software is nesesary for animation in first person shooters, for instance when you reload a gun and stuff. I first thought a modelling program, but that cant be right can it?
I think some/most modelling programs have animation built-in. So I guess it is right.
Does that mean 3dsmax will do it, i was gonna buy it for modelling, but can you animate with it and what about XSI?
I didn't make it!
I have heard of something called MilkShape or something like that
I googled it... http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/
But that is for old games, i want it for HL2 modding
...Are you a beginner?
Because the HalfLife engine is one of the more powerful, complex ones around...
i reasearched alot of this when i was trying to model in jedi academy, i believe that the best way to go is with 3dsmax, thats what i have. as far as the XSI plugin, i know there is a plugin for max, but also i know it was a BITCH to find for 3dsmax6 idk how hard it would be for 7 or if there even is one yet for 7 (or maybe its built into 7 now idk) but thats why google is your friend! :-P but you can animate in 3dsmax, actually im trying to do a small animation in it right now lol

Well for goodness' sake state that in the first post. Keep modding HL2 in its own goddamn forum.
Well questions get ignored because of lack of people that use this direct part of the webiste, Tech Dis it a lot more broader, i didn't just want to talk about hl2....but anyway i got XSI and its pretty damn hard to understand. Any tutorials you guys could donate to me?
