How do i make the sky? Do i have to do just make a box and put a sky texture on or what?

Did you try actually looking at a tutorial? Go to "Help" in the menu for valves tutorials. The easiest way to do a basic sky, is to surround your map with 6 brushes, (dont do a hollow), cover them all with the texture "nodraw" then selec only the inside surfaces and texture them with the texture skybox, jus type in skybox in the filter, and its at the very bottom. You can choose a different looking sky by seeing thte names of skys in the texture browser, then using that name in the map properties.

Why not do a hollow? hollowed ones always work for me :/

Hollowing may create overlapping brushes. You don't want that.

But you can increase the box by a tiny fraction so it doesn't overlap, why not do that?

The edges overlap. Its better to just create 6 brushes.

it is easier to search "tools" because if you search "skybox" it comes up with the skybox images and they take time to load
