I am making maps and am unable to use any skybox other than the default one. Is there something i need to do before i can get these working?
can you explane your problem a bit more please, is it that you can't make other skytextures work, or do you mean the 3d skybox?
Assuming your talking about using the skies used in halflife 2, you have to enter the name of the sky you wish to use in the map properties dialog box.(See attatchment) See here for a list of skies: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Sky_List Then create a light_environment entity (place it anywhere in your map) hit Alt - Enter to bring up the enitity box and input the recomended values for brightness, ambiance pitch and angle .
I have tried setting it in the properties section already but when i compile it i get a message saying that it cannot create the skybox or something like that. When i go into the game it is just a void.
