Hi, I am wondering if there is a .SMD exporter for Softimage|XSI Advanced, which I have, seeing as how I don't want to switch to the mod tool. I tried installing the mod tool addon for XSI advanced, but it didn't work to a level that I would like :). Only the VMF exporter worked, when I tried under the plugins manager to install the other ones, they wouldn't load. Also, is there a Half Life 2 chat room or HL2 Modding chat room (IRC) around here anywhere? Thanks, java

Hi, I just thought that I would clear things up, seeing as how I didn't get any posts :). It seems that adding the .xsiaddon file works fine, but not all of the plugins get added... It seems that if I go under the file menu to Plugins and choose Managa, they are all listed there. However, not all of them (for instance, none of the SMD import/export ones) have the loaded box checked: attachment.php?attachmentid=29993&stc=1 (This image is of Softimage|XSI Essentials, but it is the same for Advanced.) You can see by this image ^^ what I mean. Sometimes when I attempt to click the boxes, I can see the check flash very quickly, almost like the program adds it and then removes it again. Very strange. Has anyone gotten these plugins to work for Softimage|XSI? (Not mod tool, although the mod tool has the same problems :( ) Thanks in advance, java

Did you registered at their website? Then you'll get a code and then you can use the plug ins.

yes i did register, but it still didn't work. i even tried the plugin that came with the sdk, which i don't think you should have to register (there is no registration with Softimage|XSI advanced, anyways) but it still didn't work... -java
