I am making a Haf Life 2 Deathmatch level in hammer and I want the player to be teleported when they walk onto a certain area. Please could you explain as simply as possible because I am fairly new to hammer. Thanks in advance
1. first make a box the size of the teleporter or area and place it there; this is the teleporting area. 2. texture it with tools/toolstrigger for convenience 3. right click it in a 2d view and click 'Tie to Entity' 4. under 'Class' in the Class Info tab find or type: trigger_teleport 5. below Keyvalues you should see 'Remote Destination', click it and enter: teleport1 and click Apply 6. now select the Entity Tool (the light bulb-ish looking thing on the left toolbar) 7. find the place you want to teleport to in the 3d view (make sure 3d view is solid or textured), aim at the spot, and click 8. something should appear there (whether it is a little green man or a light bulb or something), if it doesn't, use the 2d view to create it 9. now either double click it in 3d view or right click it in 2d view and click 'Properties' (the window may already be open) 10. under 'Class' type: info_teleport_destination and under 'Keyvalues' click on 'Name' and type: teleport1
And you should have a working teleporter. You can make as many as you want, just use teleport2 or 3, etc. for names and destinations.
