I read about this on Half Life 2 files and took a look at the site. From what I saw it looks absolutely fabulous. They have already been working on it in secret for about a year and it is roughly 75% done. I can't wait to see it but I read something on the site that sounded like it was going to cost money. Now I'm not entirely sure but I didn't think you could charge for a mod, and from the screenies on the site this definitely looks like a mod and not a full game because it uses retextured models from the original HL2. I hope it's free when it comes out...Feel free to voice your opinions.
hey, that looks pretty good!! :) You forgot to mention the site by the way ;) http://www.planethalflife.com/manke/bwg/game.htm
I'm sure its completely free to dl, you are not allowed to charge anything from a mod, as far as I know.. I do hope they dont just use customised hl2 models in the game, but make some of their own, but I guess the gameplay is more important though.

Nice, looks excellent! Definatly will be downloading it if it's free. But yes, I am pretty sure you can't charge from a mod. But maybe they're making it tricky, like registering to the site costs and it's the only way to get it.. Doesn't look like worth of paying, original HL2 models yes..
finnaly a great zombie mod for HL2 kinda reminds me of Doom its got my D/L

I heard it was more of a seperate game in the Source Engine rather then an HL2 Mod, but yeah, it's using HL2 content, so I'd think it qualifies as an HL2 mod.

As stated repeatedly all over that website, it's a commercial game powered by the Source engine. It's going to cost money, and it's going to be available through Steam. I know the screenshots are pretty, but take your eyes off them for a few moments and cast them on the News section instead. The site says this: "Right now we are still working out the pricing and distribution options, but our goal is a low cost alternative so it can be available for just a fraction of other commercial games."
I'd be more interested in a USS Darkstar-type game from them, to be honest, though this looks pretty good.
Ah, thanks for clearing that up, I think my brain just chose to ignore those bits. As long as it doesn't cost much it's still got my attention. I imagine that it won't though, because it talks about low cost and things.

Yeah, it will definitely be a lot cheaper than a full-price, boxed retail game. It seems like they're planning on going down the same route as SiN: Episodes; cheap, downloadable games that may be short, but may be expanded upon.
it does say indeed very clearly that you have to buy this game from this new game company. as far as i can see it's made by just 2 people, but what i realy don't understand is how they will pay for it. because they have to pay a hugh price to be able to use the valve hammer editor just one time for a commercial game, when they want to buy the editor than it will cost even more money, (think of millions of dollars/euros). for example, in the old days you could use the building engine that was used for making games like duke nukem, shadow warrior, napalm, etc just for making 1 commercial game for the price of 100.000 dollar!! i don't know anymore how much it did coast to buy that buildingengine all together, and that was 1996 or so. so when you want tyo buy or rent for one commercial title ow er hammer editor, what will that cost? and how did they pay that money, maybe a rich father?
another strange thing is that i do see a whole lot of things back in there screens that comes directly from hl2, textures and models i mean. they should have been paying for that also, otherwise they can never release it. i hope they have thought about that, (because they say that they have been working non stop in one underground room for nearly one year). also do the burning zombies look to much like hl2. they have done a great job until now, but it's to much original hl2 stuff for me, especially when this is a completely new game title like they say. i'm interested in how this will develop.
