My name is John, and I am starting a very original mod about a man and how he realizes what the world is really like. Ill post more here, but if a talented skinner, coder, mapper, just about anything right now would like to know more abou this mod, email me at john5red@msn.com under subject put "truth mod" so I know that it is some one that is interested.

Just thought I'd add, new modders are welcome to join my team, but to pull of the story and action driven mod, we are going to need a pretty talented team.

Also, so people know, I am very new to this, but I am taking time to learn how to map, skin, and code. This stuff isnt easy and I know that from the start I cant do much except explain what I need to do. Please dont think I'm a jerk for wanting people to help me with a mod when I cant do anything myself yet, but I would also like to learn some of this from someone 1on1 not just tutorials.

I can sympathize with you for wanting to learn one on one because I was in the same position when I first started modding. All things will sort themselves out eventually as long as you stick in there.

You should work with one skill at a time. I would start with the easiest (mapping) and work your way to the harder and more wanted skills (modeling and coding) like I did. Even though on a development team you will rarely be doing all this yourself, it helps to have some prior knowledge of what other people are doing.

Also, you should try and get on the development team of another mod before starting your own, this really gives you a sense of whats going on to watch experienced people work. Then, after a while, you can pitch your mod idea and see if it hooks any fish. Be patient if it doesn't, but this brings me to my next point:

When trying to recruit people for your development team, try to put more details about the mod and what your are looking for in your post.

"a man and how he realizes what the world is really like"

That tells me absolutely nothing about the mod except that a man realizes something, and boy what an amazing mod that would be eh? (sarcasm)

If you want, I recently posted a recruitment draft for my mod, and you can read that here. I admit I am no expert at this yet, but that might help you a bit.

I am sorry I myself cannot give you any further help as I am busy working on my mod and getting a full development team to work with me.

Your welcome for any help this provides, -Xerobound
