Well, let me explain. Skinning involves the opening of the files in the bfvietnam folder under mods in your Battlefield Vietnam folder (the directory where you installed the game). From there, use WinRFA to extract the files from the archives and go ahead in edit them in anyway you want; Adobe Photoshop lets say. For 3D modelling, you'll have to drop some dough. Expect $3,500+ for a nice 3D modelling program. Luckily for me, I own 3DS MAX 5 & Maya (3d apps) because I do 3d animation and video editing for television and short films. BUT, the company Discreet (people who developed 3DS MAX and Combustion) have came out with a 3D modeller similar to 3D Studio MAX. The program is GMAX, and it is 100% FREE. It has about 20% of the features 3DS MAX has, but it has enough to allow you to model objects able to be implemented into BF: 1942/V . I'd recommend you'd take a look at it, it'll be well worth your time if you really want to get serious about modding. Hope this helps, and have fun! ~Zack V.
