BF1942 was all about great tank battles on big maps with battleships. mods came out which were all great. it had some bugs and lag problems. But it was a great game. Now BF:V came along i thought i would be better in every way. But its rubbish, small maps, bad handeling on tanks and planes, still lagy and no tank battles with battleships. What was the point of it?? So what it has grass and better graphics EoD was better and thats a mod. £34 misspent :banghead: Im really dissapointed
If i compare bf1942 and BF:V I would say that BF:V is funnier and better, but bf1942 isnt bad at all!
BfV is good now, it will be great once a couple patches come out and dc ports over
I think that BFV is more diverse and requires alot more thinking than BF42 did. With each 'class' - if you can still call them that - gives the player a better choice of what to use given the currant situation of the fight or even a map's style of play. The fact that anything from 5 hits to one hit can kill you in a heart beat means no more running around like rambo out in the open knowing that the only thing thats going to take you down is if some one unloads half a clip into you or you get gang banged a~la BF42. If you want to survive in BFV, you have to think more than act. Running around blatenly trying to kill other players is only going to earn you a respawn coffee break and probly a few other players calling you an idiot lol With the addition or choppers and jet fighters, the skies have become a hell of alot more dangerous and fast paced. And alot of them require actual team work on weaponry if you and your accompanying team mate want to live long enough to land in one piece unlike BF42 where is nearly every man for him self in the air. With choppers able to pick up and move tanks, jeeps, APC's, boats and spawn points the direction of a battle can turn on a dime. In transit via a chopper, APC's and tanks can also help to defend them selves and the chopper thats carrying them so that they're not sitting ducks. With all the lush trees and tall grass in BFV's maps, you have alot more tactical ploys that you can put into effect aswell as more cover unlike BF42's mainly wide open, barren landscapes. I could probly pug away for a wile longer, but I have other things to do lol I'll sum this up with this. BFV may still have alot of bug's and some ballancing issues, granted. I baught BF42 the day it was released, and its bug's and ballances were no netter or worse then BFVs are at this moment. But it still has alot going for it over BF42 than just a slightly tweaked engine and more eye candy. I myself am a WWII buff, thus BF42 has a larger impact on me than BFV. But I still enjoy BFV and what it has to offer at face value. Everyone has their own type of play style and what type of game setting they enjoy over another. Too each his own
U have to remember this is set in the Vietnam war not ww2 so the are no wide open spaces to have tank battle and the style of warefare had changed from the tanks suporting the infantry to the helos doing that. I think its a great game but for some reason it still feels like a very well done mod not a completly new game.
I agree, it does feel like a very well done mod, but you can't really judge it at all except against BF 1942 when that first came out. BF 1942 has been out for over a year now, BF:V for exactly a week. BF:V doesn't have any mods, maps, or patches yet. Lets bring this up in 2 months and see what people think after some mods and maps have been made.
I really don't want to give EA more of my money, after they have taken so much of it from me. :(
well i dont agree with annything you said. i love the game and i dont find the planes hard to handle at all. its more tactical than reg bf. i think they could have done on a much better job on the tank skins
this post makes no sense comparing Vietnam to WW2 ? LOL
I love BF:V. That's what I think. To each his own. A lot of people badmouth BFV and that's ok. But it's opinions so I don't see why some get so defensive over it (not pointed at anyone just a general statement).
